Despite it's shortcoming I found myself doing more than just the necessary dungeons for recording purposes for ret.It's not easy to explain as they have faults, but they are, to put it simply, fun and that's enough.

something else that helps out nicely. If you are using clcret and divine purpose you can set up your tmw to track your divine purpose procs and stick the button right on top of your clcret and make it flashy so that you don't waiste any procs :) It really works out nicely :) thanks again preachy! :)

Hey Preach great guide as always HA and SW where SO close in tier 15 with the 4 set. Now with the lost of tier 15 and the gain of a particularly awesome trinket which reduces the CD of certain spells (does not include HA) making wings roughly a 1 minute 40 second CD depending on which ilvl trinket you get. With SW you have 30 seconds of wings making wings with the trinket in theory a 1 minute 10 second CD DP is way to RNG for most fights and HA not working with the trinket it falls short as well

While I was really thrown at the beginning of MoP for the Prot itemization to DPS stats (haste) now it's kind of neat since it helps w/ someone like me who doesn't ever take the time to get two sets of gear to really switch between better. opener : pre-pot, Guardian (attack for 5-6 seconds, to wait for Guardian Strength stack cap) Avenging Wrath, Execution sent.. Your Execution Sentence will benefit a lot more if you use it AFTER you have your trinks and stuff rolling. for those who don't know, When you use a spell like Execution Sentence, it takes a snapshot of your current stats and uses them to calculate damage output, so waiting until your procs are rolling means A LOT more damage from things like Execution Sentence :)

Sanctified Wrath talent is a single target burst cool down buff, divine purpose is a universal dps buff for sustain dps purposes. Another thing is holy prism can be fitted into the retribution paladin rotation, plus with the benefit of healing and aoe dps of upto five targets

Clemency is awesome for support. I once did LFR on my Hunter where a Retribution Paladin, with this talent, would cast BoP on me constantly, everytime it went off cooldown. It was a good experience.

Sanctified Wrath does indeed give you more overall damage, but the difference is very little if you time Holy Avenger right, and this one gives the advantage of additional burst on demand to make up for it.

Divine Purpose is the best with 4 PC Tier 16 due to DP proc'ing off of the set bonus and visa versa! I change from Lights hammer to ES depending on the specific fight too! Protectors would be a great example for lights hammer. Hope this helps! Great video though!

Preach, to be honest, I was debating quitting WoW, I even tasked my followers, and the community to try to give me a reason not to quit. NEEDLESS TO SAY, they have yet to even try. Some questions about rotation: -- I see that you delay your Divine Purpose procc quite a bit? Shouldn't I dump Divine Purpose as soon as it proccs (so that it proccs even more since I spend HP)? -- I shouldn't dump 3HP and instead build them up till 5....let's say I have 3 HP and both Judgement & Exorcism are off cooldown. Which one should I use (while staying in melee range)?

I have never seen any guide recomend wrath in any circumstance what. so. ever. I tryed it for holy, and it is freaking amazing! I need to spend more mana, but the heal outcome and absorbtion makes it worth the mana spent. All though, i have only tryed it in BG, and NOT in arena. The holy shock crits is almost constant with a crit build. you ALWAYS crit with holy shock. I think this is viable in arena to, since Divine light has as much mana usage as Radiance

Let me point out some important points. Haste not only increase your attack speed and reduce most spell cool down, haste also increase the damage done by your weapon damage abilities, such as templar's verdict and crusader strike. Mastery increase the damage done by your Major ability, while crit is, well chance to deal double/burst damage. But while haste stacking is nice, it does have a cap, once hit the cap, other stats will become empowered. Btw, T16 4 set is awesome.

The biggest thing to remember when using CLCRET is if you are fighting more than one mob, and your clcret is telling you to use Templars Verdict, INSTEAD you should be using Divine storm. the same for Crusader strike -> Hammer of Rit Single target = Normal AOE = just cast DS and HOR instead of CS and TV :)

I found out about the glyph of harsh words, which allows you to cast word of glory on enemies to deal damage. Like templar's verdict, it takes three holy power to use. However, i tried it on a training dummy, and found out that harsh words hits much harder then templar's verdict.

i normally agree with you preach but with the introduction of the CD reduction trinket SW pulls far ahead since it doesnt reduce the CD of holy avenger divine purpose is to RNG and with SW increased duration along with the shorter CD of wings you get much more up time on hammer of wrath

Divine purpose is okish for 3 fights in SoO (considering you have 4set) Immersius, Galakras, Spoils. Also! You can use 4 set holy pvp bonus for building holy power before you pull. Kinda annoying but meh dps increase!

I think to maximise DPS you need to do the following: Get 3 holy power and use Inquisition. Then I use Guardian of Ancient kings; after about 10 seconds later throw my Wings Marco (Avenging Wrath,Holy Avenger, and my Crit Trink). Because this lasts 20 seconds, its a higher DPS increase if i have them at the same time e.g: You loose 2 or so seconds of burst if you wait for the 12 stack from the Guardian.

Yeah it doesn't say the healing is increased when used on ourselves..but when I use it, it tends to proc more for me and increased healing..also you don't really wanna be using FoL without the insta cast cus you'll loose dmg

its a strong speculation atm for aoe encounters. as divine storm is seeing alot of love with our T16 and the amount of aoe friendly fights in SoO , will be nice to see how that turns out. would be great to see another talent being used that would change up the playstyle in given fights

I really prefer Sanctified Wrath over the other two mainly because of its synergy with GotaK and the flow of my rotation the pull. Also I have the CD reduction trinket which is awesome with SW+ Avenging Wrath. Also, You didn't mention the option of Mastery>Haste in gemming and reforging, it's quite good to look at it on a fight per fight basis, the more gear you get from SoO Normal/hc mastery benefits more because of the 4set bonus and amount of bosses with a lot of adds. but its very close cut

Sanc wrath is going to pull waaaay ahead of the other two options in the level 75 tier. the main problems with holy avenger is that it does not get affected by the CD reduction trink in SoO where as Avenging wrath does and sanc wrath compounds on top on that making it infinitely better. another problem with going with this talent is that it will not line up with avenging wrath if you have the CD reduction trink making it more awkward. divine purpose can be very nice on steady dps fights but the main problem i found with it is that it gets kind of wonkey with the ret's 4-piece set bonus with the free divine storm. regardless, sanc wrath just pulls miles ahead with its short CD long duration periods of burst. tl;dr Get sanc wrath it's a god send....

In my Gear (528, bad 510 weapon) it sims around 5k+ DPS on Singletarget. For bosses where you need atleast some AoE, Holy Avenger pulls ahead quite fast.

Only thing I have to nitpick with this right now is how you explained Kings & Wrath: When you have Sanctified, you still want to wait for full stacks. You never ever want those two spells linked together- once I picked up on that and got my addons configured for watching trinket procs I had a good 30-50k dps boost regularly.

nah man, because when you pop Kings it increases your str gradually...you want to have wrath up for as long as you can, not just when you git 12 stacks....if youre popping wrath when you hit 12 stacks, the stacks will fade by the time wrath is over

Nick Lilimbakis That's the point- Kings does another burst of damage when it expires. Because of the way Blizzard does their ticks right now (changing in WoD), you want to wait for 12, then get a 20% boost on that, also ensuring you get a 20% boost to the damage Kings does on that final burst. This is, of course, assuming they haven't already fiddled with or I didn't misunderstand the thing entirely, but I don't think I have based on the way my dps spiked when I did that.

I tried both out and i will have to say personally I like Sanctified Wrath better and it does around 5-10k dps overall but I agree that Holy Avenge would be better if you need to burst in a more quick but would still recommend Sanctified Wrath for PvE

It's not about bigger numbers, it's about higher overall dps. Less bigger but much more frequent numbers will push you up on Recount.

Skada can give you the same logs and reports you just need to know where and how to look at them. Recount IS easier but you also take a MUCH bigger memory hit. It's mainly personal preference but if you use Skada you will see why I prefer it. Opening two windows one for healing another for DPS, you pretty much can't with recount. With Skada you can, easily. Skada is just better put together. For casual raiding and shit though Recount is just fine.

only in fights with constant aoe. and its chancy. if you want somthing that works every time you can go wrath and its still just as good. now you could get lucky and get crazy divine storm procs. and with T16 IF those divine storms are powered by it. yes it will bring more damage forsure

Also, I haven't looked into it, but doesn't Divine Storm only benefit from 3+ targets, looking at both DS and TV's bonus's.. TV(275 Wep dmg) and DS(100 Wep dmg) you'll loose 175 wep dmg for one target which is explanatory and loose 75 wep dmg for 2 targets which will build up over the encounter, but gain 25 wep dmg for 3 targets.

There is no rotation. Just priority system. Just build your HP with Hp generating abilities and dump it. If you have 5 HP use TW in any case. If less and you have one of generating abilities ready use ability not TW. He did nice job explaining this. Tho i like 15+15 movement speed inc but that is my personal choice. Helps lot in fights when you have to move fast constantly (arrows at galakras...) YOu basicly have 2+ HP all the time. ANd if away you build up 2 fast anyway using judge and exo.

40% haste unbuffed so u have 50% buffed (1 sec global cd) and as much mastery as u can. crit is useless for you

Sanctified Wrath is probably the best choice for almost every fight in SoO. Divine Purpose is only good an a few bosses as long as you have your 4-set bonus.

Also, according to Elitist Jerks, Light's Hammer pulls ahead of Execution Sentence, if you can use in on 1.7 targets for the full time, on almost every boss except Juggernaut it's better this Tier
