Preaching to the Affections Without Manipulating Them

One of the best ways to preach to the mind and evoke an emotional response as well is to be subversive. That is to present the truth in such a way that the individual arrives at the wonderfulness of the truth seemingly on their own. They feel as if they have processed the truth of God in a individual revelation because they have. In other words, the preacher didn't tell me this, he lead me to what I have discovered.

Preach God's word faithfully.. with passion and Spirit activated enthusiasm... people respond...a-z. Acts 1. Matt 28. 2 Tim 4 Run the race in faith... God has it sorted. Thanks for sharing your God given wisdom. 🌻

MLJ was right. Give people biblical truth and their lives will change. If you want people to stop smoking you don't preach to their affections, you give the truth about smoking. Preaching to people's affections and emotions will last about 5 minutes.

If your preaching doesn’t evoke freedom and joy then maybe your not preaching “good news”. And if your not preaching good news, then you shouldn’t be preaching. And if it’s not good news then it probably has nothing to do with God.
