Ur so lucky to have all them wonderful batteries and stuff. When i was a kid i loved batteries. I use to get the 9v batteries and stick them to the old spare X-Mass lights or even my broken remote cars, i would take out the motors and just mess around with them, it was Amazing lol.. And here i am 42 years old and i still find my self playing with batteries, then new light bulbs (LED) and motors out of my broken power tools hehe. Lead acid batteries in he forklift now? Sounds like a neat project and look forward to the videos when you swap them. Important detail (just in case) don't forget to make up the weight difference with ballast. Otherwise might be a bit tippier than expected on bigger lifts. Maybe recover lead out of the old batteries for ballast?

Just curious. When you calculate battery amperage/BMS ratings. Do you calculate for a single row, as they're all nearly equal amperage. Or do you add ALL of the amperages from ALL of the 18650 batteries? To give you the battery amperage rating for the BMS???

I think there is an error in the design of your PCB: If a cell level fuse blows, it disconnects the cell from it's parallel cells, but the bad cell will still function in series. Is the latest version of this fixed? Because it is very bad to have the cell disconnected from the bms but still working in its pack.

I thought for home storage and energy that mass and density is not a thing that matters much. I mean as long as a house has space on the wall to put. Unlike cars where weight and space matter so denser batteries make sense. If im missing anything tell me.

I'm sorry, I have to correct you, about the fact that they are good for a powerall. Those batteries are of the highest density. They are better suited where volume and weight is paramount. In mobile devices! That's even better ! :D Of course you can use them for a powerwall, but, as energy density is less important, usually, powerwall are made of longer cycle, lower density batteries (lifepo), or refurbished ones, coming from electric vehicule.

72 does not divide well by 7 best you can do is use 10 of these for 70 cells, what voltage do you need?

Yeah 2 stacks of 5x boards will give you 48v but you can only do 25A continuous so 25x48= 1200w so you might need to do the HP version of the boards as they are more dense and can do 2c continuous so 2400 watts

Jehu, so to make a 4.4Kwh power wall you will need 6 boxes at $315 each box, wow that's almost $2K just in cells???? That's kind of high isn't??? Power wall will be impossible to DIY it at an affordable budget, it will cost almost the same as the Tesla power wall when all set and done.

Be careful changing the battery pack in your new folk lift! The weight of the lead acid battery pack is important for balance.

Honestly, LG Chem has already sold these batteries once so someone like Jehu reselling them as "New" only hurts their current quarter sales. They only care about actual new sales and are trying to discourage resales with scare tactics. There is no MONEY in it for them so they discourage secondhand sales.

so, if I bought enough of these to make a 14s 100p battery. That would be 1,400 * 3500 mah=4,900 Ah * 48 volts DC = 235,200 Wh = 235.2 kWh That seems way high!!! Somebody help me out here... What would the kWh be for a 14s100p battery made with these cells?

You have to multiply by the nominal voltage of a unit, not by the voltage of a series of units.

its easier if you just do per cell 3.7v x 3.5ah = 12.95wh x 1400 = 18.13kwh
