If I already have a roof unit that needs to be replaced (it’s a good 50yrs old and can’t keep up with the Southern California heat). Do you think the cost of switching to a split unit with the heat exchanger on the side of the house in the shade be offset by the savings of having the heat exchanger in the shade

Can we replace the packaged unit from roof with the traditional unit on the ground and attic..?

What about power consumption of both units? Secondly if we are using 10 tons in a room and not using at peak (let say 30 tons) so, in such a varying load condition split can be used as per demand but if we talk about roof top unit how much power it will draw? Reply please

زاهر الندابي you could go with a regular A/C unit if you have enough window space. HVAC option is mostly used when you're applying ductwork and mostly in residential businesses. 1 room doesn't require an HVAC unit. I'm an engineer.

All these new AC companies tarring the hell of the top elbow, not proper.

do you mean the joint between the elbow and the unit? Why is a lot of tar/mastic bad? I don't understand.

No gloves, no safety glasses, no fall protection and no hard hats with a crane on site Better hope OSHA or your insurance company doesn't see this.
