@@OdinPG How does that make any sense? "This card is overrated because people forget to use it"? People forget about Narset, Parter of Veils's ability constantly, doesn't make her overrated.

@@sofer2230 Eh, it's among the reasons. If you don't follow its ability, you're just wasting a land spot that could fix your mana or be used for a better utility land. Though I often see people play RT in mono-white, or decks that otherwise don't generate mass card advantage. In those cases, it's typically useless. My point is that most of the time, RT is included in decks that don't utilize it. It should NOT be one of the most played cards in commander, but, it is.

At 10:55, why didn't Kevin just block the Fusion Elemental with Alesha? She still has Lifelink and Indestructable, so he wouldn't have lost his creature, plus he would have gained a bunch of life.

I love your precon game videos! I have upgraded my Mind Flayarrrs deck a bit and have found it to be hit and miss. A lot of the time I get ignored while my opponents duke it out until I have a solid combo and get lucky pulling some good creatures out of my opponents’ graveyards. Other times, Captain N'ghathrod just becomes too expensive and I don’t get much use out of his commander ability. It’s a really fun deck and I like keeping it as a mill deck that’s primary intent is not to kill your opponents to win, but mill them and win by swinging at them with their creatures that you pull from their graveyards.

I’m working on upgrading my own Mind Flayarrs deck, but I can absolutely sympathize about the rising expense of summoning the Captain. As soon as I get him onto the field, someone always makes it a priority to kill him. I like the deck, despite being a primarily green player, but I won’t run it too often, now that I know how much my peers hate and fear the Captain.

@@zacharyjoy8724 yeah, I love him a lot. My playgroup is starting to realize how much of a threat he can become if left untouched, so they usually nuke him before I can get much use out of him. He’s my first blue EDH deck so far.

New player here, just played my Painbow precon tonight and ended up keeping a bad first hand - Micah seems to have gotten a great one as he was able to ramp pretty quick whereas I got hard-stuck unable to cast anything for several turns since I only had a couple colorless lands and 1 tri-land to work with 😬 So all that to say - lesson learned, 5 color decks in particular need to be picky about their starting hand. Ideally pretty much full of ramp cards, colored lands, and maybe 1 creature it would seem

At 11:20 why was the Unbreakable Formation and Kaya’s Wrath all done post combat? I didn’t see any cards drawn in combat so I’m assuming they were in hand at some point first main phase. Doing it first main would have added some damage from the counters from Unbreakable Formation and removed anyone’s ability to chump block.

From what i have seen I really like the Baldur decks. I got the Mind flayers as well. Played with, and against it a couple of times now and it can certainly steal the game out of nowhere. The background commander duo is also quite good. As for Dihada, i got the deck as well, but played it only once so far. It got off at one point where i was able to return my graveyard with Primeval Glorious Rebirth haha. (and Krenko made my like 20 goblins in 2 turns time because I had a lot of pump effects on board for playing legendary spells. ......but I lost due to instand speed storming off by the izzet player :( Jared is funny. But the 5c landbase will always be the biggest downside and can really screw up a game....

I went and ordered proxie dual lands and some shock lands for this deck and it really moves fast than. I usually don't proxie but for a 5 color deck I think it makes it jump from a power 5 to high 7 easy

I would have played Jared's deck differently, I think splitting isn't the best idea on that deck like at 9:00 where Micah could have taken Andrew out of the game since he had no blockers for Illuna. As far as the Mind Flayaars deck won it doesn't deserve it, if they were playing to win Andrew would have been wiped off the table pretty quick. On the other hand, perhaps only my group of friends does not forgive anyone and we play to win even if it is not cedh, I think that way the decks and their consistency are better tested.
