Love the fact after he realises the Predator couldn't see him, he decides on a strategy of fight, he starts to plan his assault on the creature. Thing is Dutch is from earth, he knows his own planet, and uses the elements against the Predator. Great film and I loved this section as a kid because it was like a big battle of 2 forces coming together.

No Dutch Took the Stand, because he knew that it would just pick them all of one by one on the way to the Chopper Extraction Point, just like Snipers do, The Jungle Hunter is basically an Alien Sniper/Green Beret, fuckin scary

@@Jmbr-eh6xr No, it already did that. At this point Arnie is the only one left alive (not including the girl). Using the mud trick he could have just carried on leaving the jungle and escaped. It's why the Predator fights him hand to hand at the end, it has developed respect for Arnie for giving him such entertaining sport. Most of his comrades died without much of a fight.

Sorry completely disagree 👎🏾 👎🏾. Winning is not the right word in any sense. Dutch was preparing for "survival" . Dutch very well knew the enemy who he was facing, the enemy who took out his entire squad without a scratch. Fear was all over him till the last moment. This is exactly what I like about this film. It's not a about a hero who survives but also about the mind games with an smarter than hero villain / enemy. Brilliant!! 👍🏾 👍🏾 👍🏾

No, think The Jungle Hunter was depleting Dutch's last pieces of weaponry, it knew Dutch still had a knife and 30mm Grenades that can do damage, then fights hand to hand, but doesn't drop the wrist blades and self destruct device, but the less tech it uses to kill, the greater the Honour

Dutch could have chosen to escape now he realises Pred can’t see him. He doesn’t. He chooses to fight and kill the monster that’s killed his friends and comrades and most importantly, his men. How many of us would have counted our blessings and ran for that chopper?

It's do or die at this point, he can't run forever, and if he went for the chopper he would risk it getting shot down. He knows the Predator sees him as a live and active combatant, so it's either they settle the score here, or prolong the inevitable. No film depicts survival like this movies does tbh

They can’t. This era of film is gone. Movies these days are twice as long and twice as empty for it. Notice the run time of this, barely over 1.5 hrs? Not gonna find that these days. Nor script writers that can pace a movie like this. Here we have fast paced but very solid storylines and character development with the minimum amount of BS needed to get the point or idea across. Nowadays you’re basically drip fed a storyline because the ideas are often weak AF and all “good” (heavy /s) are 2.5-3hrs long. Needless to say: I WISH they made them like this.

Billy decided to fight because he was an old school American Indian that was a pure warrior like his ancestors. 3. In the rebel camp Dillon told Dutch that he made up the story because he knew Dutch would not have agreed to the mission.

The one thing I don't understand is how Dutch can do all this when the predator is probably patrolling the area and would no doubt notice, plus all the hours of work needed to create these complicated traps (in reality probably taking days)
