Only just seen this now. This looks fantastic. I've always loved Predator 2, I feel it gets treated unfairly sometimes. I love it because it was a fresh sequel, different setting, different characters, it builds on the lore without trying to go too far. It was never a lazy rehash.

Totally agree. This ranks right behind predator which is my favourite in the series. I mean predator 2 did give us multiple predators and a look inside their ship including more awesome weapons. What more could we want?

After seeing Prey, it makes predator 2 look like an underrated masterpiece, and I, too, have come to appreciate it more. But what's crazy is that the movie was originally supposed to star Arnold, but when he couldn't come back due to other obligations, the studio had the script and movie anchored around Patrick Swayze, who was their first choice next to Arnold, but since he was still injured in that final fight scene (where he and his co-star didn't hold anything back and were legitimately striking one another (just not in the face), the studio actually wanted Steven Seagal. It's weird but we only got the movie we did because the director was forced to meet with Steven Seagal and didn't like him, so they hired Danny Glover instead and modified the script to suit his character.

I've always loved Predators 2, I never had to warm to it. The way I heard the Arnie story, he initially asked for too much money and spun it out until there were scheduling conflicts. I never heard that Swayze or Seagal were considered, that's new. Swayze would have been interesting. @@billywashere6965

@@aichanshow yeah! it has always been a more than good movie, maybe a little "cursed" at its time: it get in theatres shortly after Lethal Weapon II so it was easy to see Mike Harrigan as a kind of "Roger Murtaugh's bad ass twin in a badder-than-Lethal-Weapon's-L.A."...and to expect to hear him yell "RIIIIGGS" at any moment 😁 But still a good performance from Danny Glover and fortunately time and fans took Predator 2 in its own good place :) Just my opinion :)
