The armorer(s) for Predator 2 correctly predicted the proliferation of optics and electronic attachments for small arms of the future
@Spitfire2005 жыл бұрын
When I research 80s era optics, I often stumble upon a random still from Predator 2 with said optic mounted on a weapon. The optics mounted on the officers G3 & MP5 at 5:32 are actually the LS45 laser sight. Primitive lasers like such was the precadent set for such optics from the late 70s up until the mid 90s where compact, affordable, and reliable flashlights, lasers, and red dots were beginning to proliferate alongside the introduction of picatinny rails. Early Surefire (Formerly called Laser Products Corporation) actually pioneered early weapon mounted lasers and were the ones who donated the laser to Terminators 1911 (an armorer discovered them after seeing LAPD swat units having lasers mounted to their shotguns for the 1984 olympics). The only payment they got for a laser that likely cost thousands of dollars in 80s money was a T-shirt and iirc a mention in the credits.

Indeed, even the government guys that want to get their hands on the Predators alien Tech make a lot more sense than the idiot black government guy from The Predator who was a pretty useless character who existed as a forced antagonist character for no apparent reason every one of his decisions made no sense especially when you take it into account the conclusion of that movie where it look like the government was actually reasonable and it was just a government guy being a tool. And this one day at least make more sense and don't feel like they were forcefully added to the plot because as you pointed out it respects the previous movie in its continuity. Hence why they're in the plot in the first place! You can give this movie credit that it tried to do something new and as far as I'm concerned it's the closest we'll ever get to a Dirty Harry versus The Predator movie :-) Far as I'm concerned just like with Alien 3 nothing else exists after that in this movie series. The only movies I acknowledged as Canon is Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 And Alien Isolation. With this movie series, Predator and Predator 2 are the only movies I view as Canon would Predators being a nice Side Story everything else can go f*** off. It's sad really all the side material is actually pretty good they only versus Predator Comics some of the novels. It's like the Star Wars EU all over again were you had so many good writers and then all their work it's considered non-canon because the new hack writers feel emasculated and this applies to female writers by the way they feel emasculated with all that impressive lore. Dad like the Socialist Communist sjws of today they have to try to get rid of it because if it didn't happen as far as they're concerned if it didn't happen and it's not considered Canon then whatever mess they make the fans will have to accept it right? Yeah up until they declared themselves that they don't give a f*** that the company that bought their favor franchise decided to make the goodshit non-canon for the sake of their hack writers. I mean as a Star Wars fan , I only barely acknowledged half of the s*** that comes out of George Lucas mouth when he's trying to separate his movies from all the other works connected to his movies because he doesn't want to share apparently. Same applies the Ridley Scott. And JK Rowling who I never listen to I enjoyed the Harry Potter's books I enjoyed the movies I don't give a flying f*** what JK Rowling says because truthfully I separate the artist from their work. There are many KZbinrs artists and writers who I outright hate but that doesn't mean I won't still look at their stuff from time to time if I like it. I wish people would stop trying to use compliments as evidence of agreement you know that Association bulshit wearing you can touch what you like just because they don't like the person who makes it. Have I stopped going to Subway because of Jared hell f****** no! Help I went there long before Jared was a thing and I stopped going there because it was much cheaper to just buy and make my f****** Heroes rather than pay their b******* High prices for a damn sandwich. Predator 2 is one of my favorite sequels. Under Siege 2, Dark Territory. Is another dark pleasure.

I always loved Predator 2 as much as the first movie, they are both as good in my personal opinion, but Under Siege 2 is definitely better than the first movie imo, much better tbh

octagonproplex Well thats your opinion. For me Under Siege 2 is much better than Under Siege, period To each their own

octagonprople Ok, you're actually dumb to the point where you think your opinion is a fact, and that yours is better than everyone else's opinion! Im speechless in front of such ignorance and such stupidity....just wow! Im sorry but i wont waste anymore of my time reading your unbelievably stupid comments, have a nice life in your selfish and imaginary world!

I dare say that Predator 2 is one of the greatest sequels of all time. F**k everything else that came after it with the rustiest spork in the drawer, thrice dipped in honey-glass, and lashed onto the Earth.

i saw the predator films backwards and this was the one i grew up with. i also cherished this nerf pistol with a scope that lookedlike danny glover's handgun in the film.

I forgot one, "Predator 2, featuring the only street gang to survive "Death Wish 3"." The predator didn't survive. As Eve said to Adam, how do you like them apples?

This movie while not as good as the first one was still a very good flick and had plenty of good old fashion action and delivered the goods. I can't say that about the 538 sequels that followed it. They did the same thing with all the Highlander sequels.
