So you loose velocity if you open it to much

That head looks to be ported already imo. What casting is that? Yeah I would bet money that head has had port work already. People- be careful, I'm halfway through this and following this if you've never done port work before, This process could definitely have you removing WAY too much material! Remember, it's about port VELOCITY, IMO just as, or more important than flow.

It’s a predator 212 stock . It’s been used but not ported . I wouldn’t do you guys like that .

I think it comes down to what you want the engine to do. A head like this should get max HP at a higher RPM than a head with less porting. The caution would be for those of us that don't run our engines to 7500 plus RPM. A lot of us are doing basic builds with 265 or less cams. You wouldn't want all this porting for that.

@@Deucealive75 I did notice that a head that had slightly less porting performed a lil better at lower rpm’s . I’m using a stock cam which is a 210 lift .
