Yes the mesh on the windshield and roll bar...I do remember those... Were you ever successful in hitting ?

That spring loaded hood hold down on the passenger side is installed backwards. Turn the base around 180° where it bolts to the fender. Then it will flip out of the way to facilitate opening the hood without interference. Love the project.
