I don't think Birmingham gets a team. If you look at Atlanta as an example, the Georgia Bulldogs are more popular and a Birmingham team would be third fiddle to Alabama and Auburn especially during spells where the team isn't doing well lol

@@kiroolioneaver8532The entire state belongs to the Falcons you can’t stick another team in GA. If people really want to learn about territorial rights go read the documents in City of San Jose v. Portland would be interesting. Sacramento is big enough but the problem is everyone in Sacramento is a Niner or Raider fan already. Salt Lake City could work Omaha too. St. Louis is itching to get a team back. Oakland misses their Raiders but that city is like a 3rd world country at this point it’s an economic disaster. Maybe Anaheim or San Diego. Texas could handle a 3rd team in Austin or San Antonio. Oklahoma City would work because they hate Texas and likely aren’t rooting for the Cowboys or Texans. Possibly Albuquerque but that’s a bit of a stretch. Birmingham is not that big of a city but if all of Alabama showed out for their team it could work like Wisconsin does for Green Bay. Either way they gotta expand to 8 teams so it dosent F$&@ up the division balance.

Dallas and Kansas City will not allow it has they own the Oklahoma market
@frontiercitythrills5863 ай бұрын
@@michaelcookston7795 Jerry Jones has never said that. A few reporters (WFAA just one of them) asked him why he never allowed for teams to be placed in the OKC and San Antonio markets? And his words were, "I have NEVER said those cities would never receive a new franchise, I love rivalries so long as it supports the NFL and the Cowboys, I`m perfectly fine with that", Barry Switzer finally told Jerry Jones to get off his *** and get after it. He told Switzer that there are 31 other NFL owners that would have to help pass it. OKC is a medium size market larger than New Orleans which has the NFL and NBA. According to Mike Florio, an NBC's ProFootballTalk insider, there are plans to expand the league to 40 by the end of the decade because you don`t need 80,000 seat stadiums anymore, look at Houston, 4th largest in the nation and NRG Stadium only seats 71,000, you would only need 55,000 - 65,000 seat stadiums because of the new massive TV contract and you only need to turn on the TV, plus, the gambling issue to bet on a play on your cellphone.

Torontonians (and to be fair Montrealers and Vancouverites though the recent successes of those teams and new ownership may change those cities relationships to their CFL teams) don't see the Argos as major league (this is particularly a problem among the youth 35 and under and in terms of people showing up to the games. The Argos still do relatively good numbers on TV outdrawing average TV audiences larger than both Toronto FC and the Raptors do in their respective regular seasons). The Blue Jays success in the early 90s and recent resurgence have really replaced the Argos as the city's summer sport. I think if there were either a) more teams in the CFL 12-16 and/or a historic inner-city rivalry within Toronto/the GTA like a Jets/Giants, that might've helped slow the decline over the past two decades and a half of the CFL in Toronto (and the major Canadian cities).
@kiroolioneaver853211 ай бұрын
@@profwaynewsmith I think they could but you'd have to really justify the economic benefit for holding events (like an 70-80 000 seat stadium for a Taylor Swift Eras Tour stop) or big international soccer friendlies. I think a stadium in Downsview Park with an additional area for an adjourning arena for a second Toronto NHL team could be justified especially with the growth of the GTA over the next 10-25 years. I do think (given the boondoggle over the World Cup funding) that yes, it's going to be a lot tougher for public funds to go towards a stadium so I think it would either have to be majority private funds or 50/50 with most of the public funding in the form of tax breaks instead of direct cash.

Depressed Ginger is bullshitting. Raymond James Stadium is one of the best NFL stadiums in the nation. The stadium hosted 3 Super Bowls and will host another one in the upcoming years. Also, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tampa Bay Rays aren't going nor relocating anywhere. Tampa Bay has 1 #13 TV market with over 3 million people in the metropolitan area. The Glazers bought the Bucs in 1995 to stay in Tampa. The Glazers have organizations and partnerships with businesses throughout the Tampa Bay area. The Glazers invested millions of dollars in the area. The Glazers also built a state-of-the-art training facility across the street from the stadium. I think Saint Louis is more likely than you think. I doubt the owners in Texas will be willing to give up market share there. If they want to expand within the US, Saint Louis has already approved funds for a stadium, they support a UFL team like it's NFL, and the surrounding teams (Chiefs, Bears) have failed to capture the moderately large market share in the absence of the Rams. A management team that doesn't intentionally tank the team could have a successful fan base in STL.

That left a very bad taste in Canadians mouths for an American Team to win the Grey Cup.

Orlando is a terrible place for a team and the Camping world stadium is garbage. The Jags will play in Gainesville while they renovate. The swamp is a better stadium than the Browns/Bengals/ or Steelers stadium. It doesn’t have many luxury boxes but the Jags aren’t worried about the profits, they just want a decent field and experience for their fans. The swamp is an amazing game experience and the only downside would be the NFL fans might get spoiled by being exposed to a super loud game experience with the seats so close to the field with the seats so steep. People don’t like the Devil Ray stadium in St Pete because there is nothing around the stadium so it feels dangerous when games get out at night, since it’s isolated. They aren’t moving.

I feel like the only way the NFL expands is if the sport becomes so popular that the talent pool of players becomes a lot bigger than it is rn (where it feels like most teams have a true franchise qb for example) and 32 teams just aren’t enough teams anymore. I also don’t think there’s a good way to expand if you don’t add at least another full division of 4 teams, ideally two divisions of 8 teams. Otherwise you would have to change the whole system. So if they ever expand I can maybe see two new divisions being added. One division is fully European (London, Frankfurt, Munich, Madrid, Paris, …) and the other is North American (Toronto, Austin, Salt Lake City, St. Louis, …). But that should be at least a decade away.

Falcons fan from Atlanta here - there's nothing wrong with Raymond James other than it's filled with Bucs fans...it's a pretty nice place and I cannot see ever them moving. The dump in Jacksonville is another issue - narrow, dark long hallways on the concourse, a terrible food selection - just feels depressing and a roof over it is not going to solve that problem. St. Louis got screwed by one of their own when the Rams moved to LA. StL is a good town, but last time I was there it just felt like it was dying a long, slow painful death - and that's sad to say about my hometown. Toronto will never happen - the CFL has long actively fought the NFL encroachment, and with a big new stadium in Buffalo, Torontonians can make the ride there for a game. If any team does move - I think San Diego tops the list...but I dont see any teams moving anytime soon

As someone that goes to the NFL games in London, indeed was there on Sunday. I think there really is zero chance of a SuperBowl coming to London, maybe I will have to eat my words!!! But I doubt it, as you mention the time-zone is an issue not least of all because Wembley has an 11pm curfew for events... a Superbowl you are talking about 1.30 local finish time and unlike American sports venues that largely have significant parking, stadiums in London don't, you require public transport to get away from the area.. all of which finishes by midnight. The logistical nightmare of physically hosting the event, before all the other issues makes it a real non-starter... Now a team, if it was me and I was setting it up I would twin up 4 cities in Europe with 4 in North America, play half the games between the two venues, yes I know that isn't a huge increase from what happens now with JAX playing twice a year. However, it would allow a start of revelries to develop between the "European teams" it would massively cut down on the travel time(as half the "home" games would still be in North America)and it would allow the league to test the waters for franchise locations going forward.

There is zero evidence or indication that the Bucs would move. This channel just flat made that up. St. Louis has been tried twice and failed twice. The owners have dismissed London or any overseas markets for franchises because it would be nearly impossible to make money due to various issues. Toronto has shown zero desire for NFL football. Try again.

They should just make European wing/division. And for anyone complaining let me tell ya one thing. It's not like NFL teams have many games in regular season. Ain't it just 17? My understanding is that team needs to play twice against division rivals. So you make Euro division have 6 teams, or even make two divisions with 4 teams each. Pretty sure that those cities could hande teams: London, Paris, Madrid, Stockholm, Munich, and maybe Berlin or Frankfurt (Germans are rich and they seem to like NFL so more teams for them). Can consider Poland to with amazing stadiums in Warsaw, Wroclaw, and 3City, would be nice for Poland to get one team. That would mean that even 12 games could be 'out' from schedule for American Teams, so less complaining about traveling. Then you basically make some 'rotation' system because obviously European teams would want NFL teams coming in, but they also need to travel to US as well. So for current 17 games in regular season, how about adding one to make it 18. So as I mentioned 12 will be already out, then 3 would be played by Euro teams in US, and each of European teams will welcome 3 American teams. Would love to see a detailed video about it, and your take on the case.
