@@makaramuss After the multi-pope crisis the papal states held onto the territory for a fair bit, but after the hundred years war finished and france began consolidating itself they just sort of began administrating the city as if it was already part of France. So Avignon was sort of in a limbo state where it was both part of the Papal States and part of France, and it took until the french revolution for it to finally be officially annexed by vote.

Pro tip for Drew: Eurozone and EU are two different thing. You can be in EU and still not use Euro, and you could use Euro without being in EU. Many microstates uses Euro as before that they did use currency of bigger neighbor.

Fyi, the erie states are already planning a hyper loop train between Illinois (yes I know it's not an erie border), Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and NY. The first hyperloop will go from Chicago-Cleveland-Pittsburgh. (Cost at a max of 30 billion) plans for addition loop into Cbus and Philadelphia in works. Notable non major stops being in Toledo, South Bend, Youngstown and others at this moment. Article that first got me interested puts the travel from south bend to Toledo at 47 mins. Hope you get more interested in this, all the states have agreed on it and are planning construction for 2023 and having operations running by 2028.

The funny part is we *could actually terraform the moon* as it has JUST ENOUGH gravity to hold an atmosphere that would be safe for humans to walk around and breathe. It would lose this atmosphere after like a few thousand years though, so the better solution would be something called "paraforming" where we build a very extensive network of massive greenhouses across its surface rather than relying on its gravitational bounding to keep materials in.

With enough technology to move venus or make a synthetic atmosphere, it would be easier to make the moon habitable at that point. The surface of Venus is so thick that you or any machine would get crushed.

It looked like earth at one point in time but because it was so close to the sun it developed a thick atmosphere and couldn't survive like earth because of its position in our solar system. Venus is strikingly similar to earth in many ways. It has lightning, storms, and even water at one point in time. Venus would make the most habitable planet in our solar system if it was not as close as it is to the sun.
