The greatest number 1 that never was. Cole Porter, Gershwin and Sondheim would've been proud to've written and arranged this. Masterpiece... Oh, and it's Stevie Wonder on the harmonica, for those who didn't know.

I thought they had the wrong name on that comment James, so close is it to my own feelings. I once asked Paddy about g getting Steviue aboard and he said it was easier than pie and quite the most disarmingly sweet and unexpected experience he'd had in the music biz he so wisely keeps his distance from these days.

Je me lasse pas d'écouter Prefab depuis 30 ans sans modération , le bonheur musical.
By listenning ,YOU instantly penetrate into a world of infinite musical sweetness sublimated by the MAGNIFICENT VOICES OF THE BAND , a WAKING DREAM ... This composition is one of the most beautiful that I have been given to listen to and appreciate among the most beautiful , to the world, all musical styles combined.I will give a dozen OSCARS and GRAMMY AWARDS to PREFAB SPROUT, if I had the power for their IMMENSE TALENT and the INCREDIBLE PLEASURE they give Us every time they rock US with their SUBLIME BALLADS and SONGS ... I have just listened for a few hours to some songs from the 80s, 90s, I listen to a little of everything but I especially listen to everything I like, I am a music lover and very critical, I know how to analyze a song perfectly and according to my main criteria: I like what is original, romantic, melodious, creativity, beauty, genius, in any case, anything that is not trivial and that awakens our senses and our interest (our heart, our sensitivity) from the first notes.I got a little lost listening to various well-known songs, especially regulars at Clubs (I'm not one), for many years, with numbers on KZbin's counter order of 35, 44 million views and very quickly, it started to get drunk, these are repetitive sounds on which we put 3 vocalizations that are also repeated, a loop. This is not bad for those who like to be squirm on a track and get drunk on the throbbing rhythms of the sound universe of this type of song but it is restrictive and we get tired of it very quickly so I headed for an oasis of relaxation, high class, melodious sounds and pure talent, I went to find PREFAB SPROUT to fully appreciate what the GENIE touch is and a beautiful original musical composition ( this one "NIGHTINGALES" is a PURE MUSICAL JEWEL , a NICE and GREAT MASTERPIECE ) which has absolutely nothing to do with the vast majority of what we produce, especially today and which is of a confusing poverty and banality. As I have already said, the number of views of the meter is in total disagreement with the reality of TALENT present, in comparison to what I have listened to before. So, I'm going to give them TEN OF MILLIONS VIEWS on my own, because that's what their REAL TALENT deserves. We love PREFAB SPROUT, this GREAT BAND.

@@maximiliansousa4299 Good morning ! Even if his songs are not as sweet and great as those of PREFAB SPROUT, I like Joe Jackson, especially his hit "Steppin' Out" which I must have listened to hundreds of times and still do. , it's one of my favorite songs from this rich and prodigious Decade, the 80s, the most beautiful Musical Years for me... And this song by JOE JACKSON is, in my opinion, in terms of sounds and rhythm, one of the most beautiful that we have ever composed on the Big City and its power of seduction on beings, at night when the day has given way to lights and neon lights...

When you listen to one of the many PREFAB SPROUT TUBES, it's like a waking dream, an invitation to discover another world, a wonderful world of amazing sounds and fabulous melodies. Who, today, on the air, has this talent, I can tell you without being mistaken: NOBODY! You only have to listen to the radio channels, specialists in Programming intended for the young generation and the greatest number and even on television channels. TALENT AND GENIUS are extremely rare commodities.

@oscarrosalesneira8635 жыл бұрын
Too touching. There's no way to resist it. A Christmas air that connects with childhood and an evocative tone (accentuated by the presence of the harmonica) that makes you feel nostalgic. In a very personal vision, more than a romantic composition, I interpret a gesture of compassion towards our small mortal condition: it makes no sense to live questioning the nature of our condition, since beyond the "fairy tales" and a supposed sense of transcendence sustained in "biblical fear", our condition simply consists in living ("Then livin' is our song")

Great post - you sound like an existential psychotherapist (which is a compliment, by the way).
@reubenfinklestein44964 жыл бұрын
I hear you, and applaud heartily, but the phrase "do something true" suggests Paddy believes we can determine our own path if we are prepared to commit. There's a bittersweet tone that always makes me think Paddy was thinking about a fleeting love affair he can't quite erase, because although the object of his affections wasn't prepared to do "something true", he felt they had potential. I know that feeling all too well. Reminds me of that song by the other last great British band of the 80s and 90s, World Party, All the Love That's Wasted.

How in 2023, the Majority of those who like to listen to Beautiful Songs cannot (or no longer) make the Difference between a Banal and Ordinary Song like those commonly heard on the Airwaves in the French Audiovisual landscape or even European (to a certain extent) and all those WONDERS, those MUSICAL JEWELS that can be heard from some Great Anglo-Saxon groups from the Decades before the 2000s until today. PREFAB SPROUT is part of the top of the basket, here The Words are of an Accuracy and the Voices of a bewitching Sweetness and the Musical Composition absolutely FANTASTIC. To discover absolutely for those who don't know at all and they will be able to make the difference and make a judgment if they feel the need to do so...

Tell me do, something true, true of you and me That we're too busy living through, too busy to see. What is it that we do makes us what we are If we sing are we nightingales, shine are we stars? Who are we? what we got? are we a firework show? Growing pale like a star that burnt out years ago Stranger things have been, stranger things have gone, I find it hard right now to name you one Tell me do something true and drop the fairytales. If singin' birds must sing, with no question of choice Then livin' is our song, indeed our voice Best agree you and me we're probably nightingales Who are we? what we got? are we a firework show? Growing pale like a star that burnt out years ago Stranger things have been, stranger things have gone, I find it hard right now to name you one Tell me do something true and drop the fairytales. If singin' birds must sing, with no question of choice Then livin' is our song, indeed our voice Best agree you and me we're probably nightingales God's a proud thundercloud we are cartoon cats With a fear that is biblical under our hats Who are we? what we got? are we a firework show? Growing pale like a star that burnt out years ago Stranger things have been, stranger things have gone, I find it hard right now to name you one Tell me do something true and drop the fairytales. The number of views is absolutely ridiculous, it's a joke. Of course, KZbinurs music fan are crazy, many of them are definitely unaware of the existence of PREFAB SPROUT and it is a pity for them and for them. artists.I was recently seeing a TV show on the song of the year.My God, when we see the quality of the songs presented and the "singers" in the presence, I'm sorry but it's NULL and scary platitude. Apart from one or two artists who stand out a little, everything else is uninteresting and we are very far from the quality of all these great groups that have made English POP culture.
