@@maximiliansousa4299 Are the shots with the motorbike ride from Life of Surprises? - that video doesn't seem to be anywhere on YT....Also, the beautiful shot of Wendy swinging her wide skirt around in the field at the start, where's that from, please? (edit: found them, Wendy dancing is from the video for "The Sound of Crying", 1992)

@louise_rose9 ай бұрын
@@maximiliansousa4299 No, it's not on that album at all. It's from an August 1985 BBC session that had an early take of "Cars and Girls", this one and another rare track. All done live in the studio.
@garethmurray16214 күн бұрын
@@louise_roseYes, I've had it in cassette since its first broadcast on the John Peel show early 1985 on BBC Radio 1. The other track on the session was Lions In My Garden (Exit Someone).

@@jackiehankin3859 Life (in the form of health) has treated Paddy so meanly, I wouldn't expect new music from him just now in such a lighthearted way, as if it was only natural he did so soon. But if he did, that would be such blissful news!

Étonnant ce morceau inédit de Prefab Sprout. Musicalement on est proche de RUSH , le son de Grace under pressure ! Bon c'est la même époque mais ça prouve une fois de plus le talent de ce groupe
@louise_rose7 күн бұрын
Yes, it's an amazing song and beautifully played (love the drumming here, especially!). Paddy McAloon seems incapable of writing a dodgy song even if he were to try! And this one was recorded "live in the studio" for the BBC, in one take and with no overdubs. Someone dubbed the Sprout "the godfathers of the 1990s Britpop wave" - very fitting, you can hear hints of Pulp, Suede and Blur in their music.

Very clever editing to compile a "faux" video for this tune. I enjoyed this quite a bit!

It's amazing how Paddy's songwriting skills were here in this song, caught a little before Langley Park, and would go on to infinity. He is incapable of writing a shit song.

What a fantastic band ❤😂😅😅😊
@louise_rose9 ай бұрын
Yes indeed, Paddy is an ace songwriter and the band was both tight and fluid at the same time. The rolling, punchy rhythm track here is especially impressive (Neil Conti is such a cool drummer) and even more because this was cut live in the studio in one take, with very few overdubs and very little time for rehearsal.
