I've been on it a week. 75mg in the morning 6 hours later 75mg in the afternoon. I never felt so good! I've had two brain surgeries and I couldn't get out of bed for a year, this was the first time I could get out of bed and be functional like a normal human being. However, I have been reading all kinds of nightmares of people trying to get off this drug and reading about the withdrawals I don't want to have anything to do with it because I know about antidepressants and withdrawals it is no fun and I don't want to go through that, so needless to say I'm going to start weaning myself regardless of it giving me the best energy of my life.

Debra James It’s great to hear it’s improved things for you so much but alas there always seems to be a downside. I’ve been on it a little over 2 months now & the benefits seem to be getting less and less. Like you I’m already dreading the withdrawal I’ve heard so much about but fear it’s going to be coming soon :-(

peaceful warrior Yes I’m still taking it but recently reduced from 300mg to 225mg. I had a couple of days with an upset stomach & have felt a slight increase in anxiety but I’m determined to slowly come off it (or at least reduce until I feel a bit more emotion) It’s trial and error finding the correct dose for each individual. Do what you feel is right for you x

I’ve just started taking this drug for back pain as well. So far my brain feels numb. Or buzzing maybe? My speech is also affected by this drug too. Some of the back pain has already numbed tho. I’m not sure about this drug. Right now it feels impossible to work with this drug.

Yeah it’s normal to feel spaced, I do in 900mg of Pregabalin sometimes, I like to do this at night, then go for a walk and I am wobbling like a buckled wheel, I shuffle along and look at the lights, they look really bright, I like the coloured ones blue and green, they look so pretty and they really stand out. I make my way back home and I talk to whoever is in, once my speech starts to slur I know then it’s bed time and I fall into bed and sleep a good 9 hours. I wake up still wobbling but at least I can talk. Anyways, it’s being called the new Valium I believe, obviously I am prescribed a whole lot more than you are. I always miss doses so I have never got used to it, I always drop asleep within an hour of taking it. Enjoy!!

@@IntelligentEating Yes, it is dangerous in big doses, i am prescribed 1,200 mg per day but split into 2 doses, i been on this for 13 years so they are not taking it down, i am used to it, i dread to think what my brain will be like if i stop taking them - i think it will be a nightmare withdrawal.

I started this week with 50mg. And oh my, it is something else. Like you said, it is NOT an unpleasant feeling but very space cadet. I hope that goes away. But, very relaxing, has helped nerve pain already, but if the “Wonky” feeling doesn’t subside, I won’t be able to continue…….. can’t drive, and I don’t care for that. But otherwise it’s quite lovely, and my fridge is in the same shape,😂empty. I suppose I’ll try to get myself to the market at some point.

Just watched this as i been put on pregablin. Day 1 25mg 2 x a day Told to increase if i can tolerate in a few days to 50mg x2 then 75 x2 but not go further than 75 twice a day. Im taking it for extreme anxiety and panic attacks. Hope it works and hope im as funny as you on it. Do you have a more recent update! Love the hair :) x

It sounds like your dose is pretty high. And you might be a little stoned from it. The spaced out feeling should go away in a week or two once your body equals itself out and gets used to that dosage.

Physiotherapy and a tens machine is fantastic for bulging disks. Codeine makes you drowsy alone so definitely mixed with Pregabolin will cause you to feel spaced out. You really shouldn't be driving under the influence of those meds.

This drug effects varying on each individuality. In my case ,it causes blurred vision ,extreme headache, loss of enthusiasm, no passion ,brain foggy ,thinking capacity becomes limited which causes anxiety ,past memory traces etc . It becomes worst when u leave this cold turkey

Robert Creasey Hi and thanks for the message. Yes I was stoned for the first week but it soon wore off. I wouldn’t recommend this medication if you have to be focussed on the job as it seriously messes with your short term memory. I am currently very forgetful & even my verbal range (good example as can’t think of the word I’m looking for) has significantly diminished. Good luck

Am pain user ... first on normal opiate pharma... now on cannabis and kratom... both natural drugs help me in many ways, also for the anxiety, stress, apetite, sleep... Only when kratom is runned out, i use pregabslin, about 225mg up to three times a day... but i don't really like it, it's nice but i fell it wants to be liked like that... i guess they created a drug to make complying patients for lifetime...

I'm waiting for a scan on my back, pregabalin is the only thing that touches the nerve pain in my leg, I've tried amitriptyline and gabapentin, so my leg is sorted but I still have the low back pain. So far I've not had any side effects on pregabalin

That’s great. I didn’t notice more than a few grumbles ie constipation & dry mouth to begin with. Sadly that changed when my dose increased and my emotions were so numb I felt hopeless & depressed. Luckily I’ve dropped down and have found a comfortable dose that works for me. Glad things are working out for you 🙂

Yep it's the combo of those, it's ok you should get used in short order. For a lot of people the slowed speech can make them appear calmer and improve the interaction .

I've been on Pregablin for a week 75mg in the evening and it's done wonders but a funny but positive side effect has happened, it's made my sex drive go crazy. I was taking Codeine for a few days on Pregablin gave me the same effect you had, so I understand what your saying. the leaflet says Opiods which codeine is can do this, take care taking them together. Don't drive please you will get into trouble, I was told not to drive, I don't drive anyway but apparently you can get done for drug driving if you cause an accident or get pulled over As for the dry mouth, that's good you're drinking water as both Codeine and Pregablin can give you constipation so drinking water will help with that. Hope you feel better x

Gee Wiz That high feeling only lasted a couple of days but if you are thinking of starting Pregabalin look carefully at the side effects and weigh up the pros and cons. I am still taking it but have reduced my dose due to feeling disconnected, unmotivated and basically like a zombie with no feelings. Total loss of libido and inability to cry or feel any emotion. Anyway ive found the good in it because ive just taken a 150mg and the effect is euphoria ive never ever ever felt so grateful to get that withdrawal gone but my doctor is calling friday apparently its too much of a drop for the brain to cope so come down 5mg at a time. Im glad i did the cold turkey though so now im on 150mg but i swear im never doing that again phew. Xx

spiritual abundence My god that is a HUGE drop to do in 48hrs!!!! I’m glad you’re now involving your doctor and have come up with a taper plan. I’m not sure how I can taper from this point as I have 75mg capsules and my doctor doesn’t think I should come off it. I’ve heard of people who open capsules and literally count out the beads of medication which will be time consuming but I suppose doable. Let me know how you get on x

Im holding off im still on 150mg but shivers and shakes but im meditating and sleeping its helping to heal im going to try and get a mentor and and find an NA group for more support i feel very alone xx
