Pregnancy Nausea Tips! What would you add?!
Ooof this time around started earlier and came with a vengeance from the start - and these last 5 weeks have felt like an eternity tbh. Now I’m not nausea free by any means, but week 5-8 was truly debilitating ALL day long. Now I’ve got it managed to really just feeling rough around 4-5pm until bed. So wanted to share what I feel helps + a few things y’all shared!
Things that helped me:
👉🏻B6, specifically P5P from Thorne, every meal 3x/day (consistency is key here)
👉🏻jarrows milk thistle: this is new to me but liver overwhelm is one root cause of nausea so milk thistle can help (but takes 2 full weeks of taking twice a day to kick in - and apparently works even better if you start taking in preconception or RIGHT when you get pregnant before nausea kicks in)
👉🏻magnesium daily (I have capsules and a spray depending on what I can tolerate that day)
👉🏻eating very small meals very frequently - find those foods YOU can tolerate, it’s different for us all. And when you can, protein helps! Obviously carbs are usually easiest to eat - but I found certain flavor protein bars, pub subs, eggs, and certain yogurt flavors to be tolerable!
👉🏻keep snacks by bed to eat before you get up in AM / even in middle of night if nausea wakes you up
👉🏻calm CBD oil: sleep is TERRIBLE for me in pregnancy, and even worse with the nausea. This helped me a ton and I feel comfortable using it!
👉🏻last pregnancy ginger B6 chews helped some but this pregnancy ginger was 🤢 from the start
👉🏻hydration is always hard in first tri but mixing just like 1/8 lemonade in with 7/8 ice water helps! Coconut water last pregnancy was a life saver. Watermelon always helps too!
What others recommended:
👉🏻beef liver capsules: I actually have these but just can’t get myself to take them consistently with this nausea right now
👉🏻phosfood liquid on amazon
👉🏻the nausea relief bands (I tried the cheap ones on Amazon and didn’t help but maybe those more expensive ones like Emeterm would?!)
👉🏻preggie pops/sour candy: these worked one day for me but then seemed nauseating after that 😅
Anything you’d add?!
