I am a RN & was a lactation consultant many years ago. I also worked with many RN mamas who worked and pumped at work. Most will agree having a hospital grade pump is most important and changing wear parts monthly or every 6 weeks. Please be aware that human milk changes over time. The ratio of ingredients your body makes changes as the baby grows- premature infant milk is much higher in the components an early baby needs. I am not sure where an induced lactation milk would fit/ but I bet it’s a richer milk. So this is why it’s imperative to label your milk and write its expiration date on the bags. Use in order of making for the best benefit for the babies. The more yellow the more colostrum too. I also encourage you to try to actually nurse. Infants are more efficient in removing milk from human breasts. The infant benefits in many ways with actual nursing. Being held close provides warmth and skin to skin, the distance eyes of baby to mamas face is perfect for interaction. Hearing moms heart has a security impact and the nipple sprays from many holes not one like silicon nipples. The human nipple is deep into the mouth when nursing properly. You can buy bottle nipples with different flow rates but be aware that fast flow can cause gasping air colicky effect in some babies. If yours gulp air burp more frequently. Use a Hakka to catch milk in breast 2 if it leaks while baby is on breast 1. Keep track of which breast and which baby in twins. And I learned this from my neice who exclusively breast fed her triplets- try not to prop. The baby looses much benefits when bottles are propped. Don’t worry about measuring amounts of milk- as long as babies are peeing lots of wet diapers and seem content after meals they are getting enough. Best of luck. Seek an experienced lactation consultant and join a fb nursing mamas group- there are many benefits of both.

As a new mom (currently 3.5 months postpartum) I got a huuuge reality check with just how much time breastfeeding/feeding a baby in general, takes. I feel you on the pumping schedule, it's a lot! It's a huge job and even though I wouldn't change my decision I was definitely taken by surprise and have a greater respect for other parents.

I used to get the worst Charley horses in my calves during pregnancy. Potassium and extra water were recommended but did absolutely nothing for me. Only thing that helped at was leg massages before bed and first thing in the AM. They happened mostly first thing in the morning, if hubby didn't massage then a heat pack was the only relief from the Charley horse pains

I was watching and you said your a/c doesn't cool the upstairs enough. I have a simple fix for you and it will help allie stay cool. Place a fan at the bottom of the stairs tilt it up (I use a 20lb hand weight vertically) and you adjust it to whatever angle the stairs are and it will cool down the upstairs in no time. Or buy a small window unit for your bedroom. Both work. I can relate to the heat allie is feeling I was hot all of the time.

Another thing to try is closing some of the air vents on the main floor. That way the majority of that cold air will go up the vents straight to the second floor 😊

So exclusive pumping mama here! I also pump every 3 hours but since my baby is 2 months old now I’ve pretty much stopped nighttime pumping sessions. And my output is all over the place I get a lot in the mornings and then roughly about 3 ounces after that morning session. Put I wanted to give you some tips! I drink roughly a gallon of water a day and I eat constantly! Lots of carbs and beans and oatmeal. Brown rice is great for breastfeeding also some type of milk is good too! Hope this helps you also I’ve tried body armor and Gatorade but didn’t notice that much of a difference but you can always try it. Just make sure you’re eating a bunch and drinking tons of water!

Definitely lots of twins are born vaginally especially if they are head down. C-sections with twins is more common in the USA and that is due to physician comfort and experience (not the moms.)
