There a lot of Coheed songs that make me tear up, especially off the first two records. Everything Evil started to make me tear up a bit after learning the story behind it. Coheed songs that make me tear up: Everything Evil, Cuts Marked in the March of Men, Three Evils, The Crowing, Light and Glass. I Won’t See You Tonight Part 1 and So Far Away by A7X are big tearjerkers for me as well.

"Promised myself I wouldn't cry" then what was the point of the video! haha I'm surprised you made it that long before crying. Loved your video. You're not alone in having songs make you emotional. I think it's natural for any music lover who actually gets engrossed in the music. It happens to me when I'm really focused on the music and if you sing along with it it can make it even easier to channel the singer's energy. "Televetors" is one of my favorite songs of Mars Volta and as if the music by itself isn't emotional, now it'll hit harder after knowing the backstory behind it. Thanks for sharing! Tool's "Wings" is definitely an amazing song and I felt that emotion too when you highlighted that part. I've never read an Emily Bronte novel before but I loved the the excerpt you gave us. It was very beautiful. There's so much on the subject that I'd love to talk to you about so we'll have to continue this topic elsewhere! You chose some great songs from Coheed and from the otehr bands. I can't remember off the top of my head all the songs give me the feels so strongly that they make me tear up but as soon as I remember them I will share them with you, but for now I'll mention two Coheed songs for you. Now that you're in a diff state of mind, I'd like to request for you to give "The Light & The Glass" another shot. Last year you said you don't like it very much but it's one of my favorites! Approach the song with your literary mindset this time around and look at how beautiful those opening lines are, and how emotional the line "Your father's dead-he passed in his sleep." and the "and I woke to the sounds of her crying". Now want to know which two songs of Coheed's climbed right to the top of my list of songs of theirs that make me tear up? They're both from the latest album. The first one is "A disappearance act". While the song is very upbeat, This part makes me emotional-I want you to visualize this whole scene in your mind's eye. A kid has been stuck for what seems like eternity in the time-space continuum: "How long have you waited here for someone to touch you-for someone to hear you scream? It's okay to be afraid. I'm here with you. My love, we'll make it. My hands you can leave or take 'em. We're strong enough to face our fears. Now watch time disappear!" I have a theory about this part, and I'm probably wrong here, but I think it's the Prize who is talking to Vaxis here. They are both "trapped" in time and she finds him and keeps him company until they are "released" from there. Remember that the Prize gets released from her "prison" and the first thing she does is wake up Vaxis from his coma. I think they became "soul mates" inside the time dimension. Lastly, and this is the one in first place of Coheed songs that make me emotional; "Window to the Waking Mind". The first part in the song that hits me in the feels is "Our pride and joy... Are you there? Are you in there safe and sound? Tell us what you need so we can help you. We don't know what to do... We don't know what to do." The despair of Vaxis' parents in that last sentence hits me hard. And then there's this part which somehow hits me harder, but just like the earlier part, it's actually the last sentence that sticks the knife in me, and I actually think it's Claudio using his son as inspiration. "I'll take you home, this child of ours. I'll take you home. With all my love, I'll give you the world and keep no secrets from you. So life gets tough, but's no excuse or your fault. My brightest star, shine your light on us all. Am I wrong or did he save me? Shine your love on all this crazy. Who says 'you've got to rush to get old'? 'Figure it all out or you'll be left in the cold.' Little one, let them. Don't follow. Just set them free. You can do it on your time, so you know I'll be watching you, armed to the teeth. Don't you go poking while the lion, he sleeps. My boy, it's okay to cry". That last sentence hits me every time. I always imagine that part of the song taking place after Vaxis has woken up from his coma and is finally with his parents. Just beautiful. P.S. A lot of metalheads are "sensitive". There's a reason why emo music is a metal subgenre and not rap. LOL P.P.S. Congratulations again, my dear friend. I'll miss your videos while you're on your break and I'll be awaiting your return. We'll stay in contact, of course! Talk to you soon.

I think you have a great theory there with a Disappearing Act. I have a feeling you’re into something with that. I’ll definitely have to give Light and Glass another chance. Maybe a life version. I found that some songs on the first two records I don’t care much for I LOVE live or acoustic. Yes! So much to talk about! I’ll open discord and can continue chatting about it. It’s good to be back!

@@JJMetalhead thank you! Give the comic book and the song a disappearance act another read to see if it seems more likely to you. I don't have the comic book to be able to read it. It really gave me that impression because in the comic book the first thing she does is wake him from his coma, which to me heavily implies that they were both in communication with each other. I think they'll definitely be a Duo in the next part of the story. Maybe you prefer to songs live because in the first two albums the production quality sounds rough? It could be that. I think there's a good acoustic version of light and the glass on KZbin. I'll have to search for it and send it to you. It's great to have you back! Talk to you soon!

I'm the same way. When I'm sad, I go, okay, what songs will make me even more sad lol. Even without lyrical content, there are metal songs where just the atmosphere of the music will give me a good cry. Twilight Ophera songs Born of Brimstone Womb and Sulphur Spiral are usually my go-tos; they're slower songs and back to back so it's even better. Anyway, see you soon, and all the best to you and yours! \m/

One Last Goodbye - Seventh Wonder. To get the full impact you have to listen to the full album. Once I did a hit of research it actually made me cry more, then I worked through it and it's not as imoactful as it used to be.

BTBAM's Melting City and Silent Flight Parliament from The Parallax 2 make me cry. You already covered the story, so you know what it's about. Mostly I feel for the wife in the "four-handed bed occupied by only two." And, "they are sleeping holding each other like it's the last, and it is". My boyfriend was gone away on tour with his band at the time and I was often left alone. Also, A7X So Far Away and I Won't See You Tonight make me cry. Tool's Schizm makes me cry too. I'm sure there are many more but those came to mind first. I really like your channel. Best wishes to you for a wonderful delivery experience. 🙂

Televators was the initial song that really hooked me onto TMV, such an emotional powerhouse. I'll have to give their new album another chance, I also hated it upon first listen and haven't gone back after I was so disappointed. Off the top of my head some really awesome emotional songs that vibe with me and could bring a tear to my if I wasn't such a heartless bastard are "Candlelight Fantasia" by Symphony X and "Isolation Years" by Opeth. Also BTBAM "Backwards Marathon" the it's raining section used to have quite the effect on my college years.

Definitely give the new TMV album another try- this time with different expectations and see what you think. It’s a whole different experience but I seriously think they laced some voodoo magic in it because there’s something so spellbinding about it that I can’t even begin to explain. Oh yeah, I feel you with the Opeth. I tend to play Opeth on rainy days (especially black water park and still life) the dark broodiness just seems to fit and I could see how it could move you to tears.

A song that always gets me to tear up is Act 1: Scene One: Regression off of Metropolis Pt.2: Scenes from a Memory. The first few times I heard the track I didn't think much of it, but after coming to understand the entire story of the album and realizing the foreshadowing in that initial track, I realized the power behind the lyrics: "Safe in the light that surrounds me Free of the fear and the pain My subconscious mind starts spinning through time To rejoin the past once again Nothing seems real, I'm starting to feel Lost in the haze of a dream And as I draw near, the scene becomes clear Like watching my life on a screen Hello, Victoria So glad to see you, my friend" The acoustic guitar played to perfection to these lyrics that are sang with so much warmth, it just hits me in the gut every time I listen to this track. This is one of those albums that gets better and better the more I go back to it and this track is really evidence of that.

Shit. Just realized that this vid is only 10 months old. So, hope birth went well and welcome to the "no sleep zone". New song, not sure I'd label The Libertine's as metal, but they are hard and the song "Night of the Hunter" balls me out every time. Being a dude who never had that option for a call makes me hurt. Also the song Gunga Din by the same band finally got me looking towards a clean life, so I would say maybe they aren't metal but The Libertines are hard lads.
