He totally groomed me and now that I’m 30 I can honestly say that I feel that he should have been in jail. Thank God for laws that protect kids from these people. Always sad to see these laws not being implemented. If someone had asked me at 15 if I was a victim and if he had r*ped me, I would 100% say HELL NO I’m almost an adult and I should decide for myself! So the 15 y/o boy’s response didn’t surprise me. I feel the need to add my experience to situations like this. When I was 13, I had a “relationship“ with a 24-year-old and at the time when we were caught, I said that it was consenting, and I fought hard to keep him out of jail because, I had bought so deeply into the grooming and manipulation. now looking back at it as a 26 year-old; I know it was predation. I know he was a pedophile, and I wish that I hadnt given my testimony trying to keep him in safe, I wish he would be punished for his abuse. I hope this goes to show that children that age, their brain is not formed enough to make decisions on whether a relationship was consenting. I hope that we will stop relying on kids testimonies about how they felt about the situation - if someone had sex with a minor they are a criminal and that is that.
@Gabrieliuka4 ай бұрын
I absolutely agree. I keep thinking of this in other situations. I know I was dreaming of other "adult" things that were unavailable and underdeveloped to me at 13-15, like buying a house or being an architect. No one would entertain THAT if I consented to buying property, no one would hold ME in any regard had I submitted "building drafts" as an "expert" at that age, no matter how seriously I'd take it. Had I signed up to go to the army, no one would let me do it. Had I gotten pregnant, there'd be concerns about me beign able to take care of a child. But so many folks are out here to argue that 13 year old girls are capable and willing, hell, maybe even the active seducing parties in this whole horrid pedophilia game. Just because they "wanted a boyfriend" or they responded when someone way older flirted with them and told them they were "mature for their age". I can't stand this mess!

This is just another reason that other than close family, (and the few videos I've seen by Julia or others on this subject) that I don't publicly speak about my SA trauma. I'm a guy and my abuser was also male and there's already people that don't treat female predators the same but people don't take male victims of male abusers seriously either so I'm very closed off when it comes to speaking about my trauma along with other online grooming/trauma that i've dealt with. It just sucks because I know my story would probably help a lot of people but at the same time I know that I probably wouldn't be believed. I just feel for this poor kid, especially because now there's a baby involved. Imagine how that baby is going to feel growing up in a world where their father wasn't taken seriously and that their mother was a rapist. At least for me I know when I comment on Julia's videos that her subscribers will be supportive.

Just a thought, but maybe the prosecution is keeping the video on the dl because if the child was sharing it with other children, or was the originator of the video, there is a very high likelyhood for the child to land up on a registry as collatoral damage. Many legal systems havent caught up with the times, and so there is no law protecting minors who take nudes and share them, and often they land up being charged with manufacturing cp even if they were groomed into it, or if it was coerced. I could be completely wrong, and this could not be the case in the childs state, but it is a possibility. Aside from that though, it is vile that people are able to walk away from having done something like this. Hopefully the prison sentence will be enogh to keep her away from children for the rest of her life. She should not be allowed to work with them ever again. There is no such thing as a consenting minor, and to even pretend he has any idea of the gravity of the situation is absurd, he doesn't even have a fully developed brain yet!

If other kids testified the defense lawyer would use the same argument of it's just school rumors with no proof. I wonder if as he gets older he will better understand what happened to him. Law and Crime (on YT) recently did a video and invited a specialist who said that usually these female classroom offenders are different from their male counterparts in the sense that their offenses are opportunistic and random (caused by distress, family issues, etc; not justifying it but that was the specialist analysis), whereas males are usually aware of their urges and do it premeditatively.
