I never really fully understood why some people get into a rush to have babies. Especially when the brain isn't fully developed until mid-to-late 20s, and menopause doesn't hit until around mid 40s. That's a pretty substantial window to have kids. Yes, it does become more difficult to have kids the older you get, but it's not necessarily impossible. Also, there's always adoption to consider. But they could have waited until their 30s to have kids. I mean, if a couple REALLY wants to have kids so early and both parties are in agreement, go for it. But this feels questionable. And on another note, what "career ambitions" did he give up? It's pretty clear what exactly SHE gave up. But "career ambitions" is such a vague answer that it makes me wonder if his sacrifices were significantly less and/or much easier to obtain for him than what all she gave up, and they just used "career ambitions" as a cover up. This may not be the case, but why can't we have those details on him? Also, don't get me started on that egg apron. I hope they just did that for rage bait, and that he gave her tickets to Greece in private, but I have my doubts.

Everything they’ve chosen to do has to be viewed through the lens of Mormonism. Mormons are encouraged to marry young and have as many children as possible because it is their religious belief that they’re bringing souls to earth (from heaven) by having children. Premarital sex is also considered sinful. The confluence of those beliefs results in young marriage, tons of kids and traditional gender roles.

I think menopause on average hits more like early 50's but regardless, you're absolutely right that people are bizarrely pushing for procreating very early. It's wild how many people seem to believe you're practically dried up and infertile in your 30's!

Sorry but the whole "boooking a seat next to her" thing would already be a red flag for me personally. You're basically forced to spend multiple hours next to that person, whether you want to or not, with nowhere to run. Nuh-uh. Apart from that, this whole story is just heartbreaking. It doesn't sound like he sees her as a person, a partner that he loves, but a servant to fulfill his fantasy of a big family, no matter her suffering. And she seems to have convinced herself it's all fine and normal and admirable cuz it's "traditional". I'd imagine she's trying to put all her suffering in a positive light just to keep her sanity cuz once she realizes the reality of how tragic her situation is, it would probably destroy her. And the egg apron thing...I can't even. Apart from the gift itself, he didnt even bother packing it up nicely, wrapping it or anything. Thats like the bare minimum of gift-giving imo (at least of events like birthdays) and he didn't even bother with that.

Plus, he gave her an apron for her birthday, so it doesn't look like she sees that much of all that billionaire money if he can'teven buy her some plane tickets. Anyways, some people might do everything and anything for money, but many won't. If you are one that would go through excruciating suffering for money and live with someone that treats you like a broodmare or even abuses you, good for you! Go live your dream life then. and here i thought the idea of being a billionaire in itself was casually sadistic-- imagine hoarding all that wealth while other people starve or don't have homes-- but now imagine being a billionaire, hoarding all that wealth while impoverished strangers suffer, AND you even deny your wife and the ever growing litter you foisted upon her of your own children the benefit of a little bit of ease or pleasure with that money too. all just for your personal pleasure at the idea and aesthetics of "tradition". that's... yeah. making your eldest kids raise your youngest kids is parentification which is a type of abuse, you shouldn't be immune just because you have a wallet.

@@Afmedic85 Except it seems like they don't on the home front. She gets a cleaner twice a month? That's nowhere near enough for a family of 10 in a big ass house like theirs. She has no chef and makes everything from scratch. They don't even have a microwave for her convenience. She has NO nannies at all because her husband does not want any except for a babysitter on the one date night a week he allows her. And even in that clip where he gifts her an egg apron, apparently money is an object because he couldn't even gift the mother of his 8 children and counting (since they don't use birth control, just prayer) a trip to Greece like she had been hinting. Especially considering his family owns an airline. *Her husband is rich (i.e. his parents have money & he has access to it) but she does not have access to money. So, money is an object for her and she has limited access to it through her husband. I think that's what a lot of people have a problem with. Not so that she is a traditional housewife. It seems like she can't even get access to hospital care/epidural treatment that she would actively choose IF her husband wasn't there. As the case in the only time she was able to get it was in secrecy without his approval.*

One perspective on childbirth for those who haven't/won't/can't have children: I gave birth without complications or surgery. I asked for an epidural because I started feeling lots of hot pressure from all directions on my hip bone, thighs, and tailbone around the time my water broke. I didn't want to know how much worse it could get. I tore with labor and was stitched up as my epidural IV was running out. It BURNS. I've since healed but I am not the same. The labor was difficult but not as painful as I thought it'd be. Postpartum recovery SUCKS. I couldn't walk a block without hurting/bleeding/feeling like I was grinding down my bones. I was sorting laundry while sitting down and reaching over to different piles caused me to bleed and hurt. I CANNOT imagine going through labor without pain management and much less being pageant ready less than two weeks after.

I will say everyone is different, I didn't get any meds for my second labor and delivery and felt amazing after. Everyone said I left the looking like I never had a baby, and that's not to brag. I'm just saying this for perspective. By 15 days, I was already wearing my old clothes and going on family walks bc I felt so good. My first labor looks me 3 months to recover, so I have no clue what the difference was, but I'm very glad for this second experience.

@SeleneCast00 I had so much anxiety when I got pregnant again bc I didn't want to have another long recovery with a child already. My mom had 4 kids and was basically like a doula for me, she stayed at home with me and helped me comfortably labor at home until I went to the hospital bc my contractions were close together (I still wasn't in that much pain compared to my first labor so I thought I was like 6 cm). When I got to the hospital they said "You're 9 cm and going to start pushing now, you won't be able to get any medicine in time." My mom kept me calm saying "You're almost done anyway, you don't need it now." I 100% would've panicked if I didn't have her to be a voice of reason for me. I think having someone coach me thru it when I need a reminder to breathe and push helped tremendously! There's a lot of mental strength that you need during labor (with or without medicine) and having someone help remind you that you're almost there helps with the anxiety and pain.

The whole situation makes me feel icky… Not all abuse is physical or sexual or even mental in a way we’d all know to be abuse… there are so many types of abuse… most women don’t even realize they’re being abused. I hope she’s genuinely happy and content one day… He wanted to marry her so quickly because he knew she had a REAL chance at a ballet career and if she achieved that, if she had a career as a professional dancer he’d not be able to get the “wife, kids, house” thing he wanted. So he “HAD to marry her NOW” 🤢 The writer obviously felt “some type of way” about the husband before they even met. Which I dunno is fair or not. Shouldn’t the writer at least try to be a bit more… neutral in her opinion on the hubby or whole situation really? To be able to give a “fair representation” of the family and situation? But then again, I like the honesty…? I dunno, I liked the article- it’s brilliantly done- but shouldn’t the writer let us make our own decisions about the subjects involved?

A funny and very sad thing is, in her Instagram comments everyone is absolutely BASHING her for supposedly having 10 nannies and pretending to work hard because of her billionaire husband. Turns out she has no nannies, gave up her career in ballet, and occasionally gets sick from exhaustion. Now people are saying come on get a nanny, your husband is a billionaire. It’s like women can never win, and you know what? It’s women who are doing most of the bashing. Can we stop bringing each other down? (Rhetorical question, the video was super informative and delivery was respectful and unbiased)

The part about them being devout Mormons really doesn’t give me hope for her free will in all of this. The Mormon church is notoriously money hungry & bigoted in every way you can imagine. There’s also huge stigmas (shunning) for members who leave, which will almost always cause a rift between family members of different beliefs, so her being raised in the faith (iirc) is not helping. Edit: Because the church is so adamant about no sex before marriage, that’s one of the most common incentives for couples to get married extremely young & quick. I could go on & on about this because Mormonism is one of my hyperfixations/special interests lmao

She actually doesn’t even call herself trad, everyone else does. That’s just what she’s been coined. But I undoubtedly strongly dislike her millionaires husband, and I feel so bad for her. I hope he sees all the outrage and PROMPTLY takes that woman to Greece. The worst part of this in my mind, is that it’s going to be SO hard for her to leave him, divorce him, and fight a lengthy expensive custody battle for all of her children. This is why a lot of women don’t leave when there’s this unfair financial power dynamic they’re in. I hope she’s okay, mentally, though.

Frankly the author is a horribly rude and judgemental person. I can understand if you have your personal biases, but don't frame shit with the bias, let us make those decisions ourselves. Even guila admitted that the way the author wrote the article gave her a specific idea. Right, because ppl like that are looking to make everyone they disagree with look bad. That being said some of the stuff from the interview IS kinda off I agree. However I'm sick and tired of people whining about traditional women pushing their lifestyle. Not all of them do that and a lot r just doing their thing and sharing it. I say this as someone who would not enjoy the traditional life because I'm a bit too stubborn and high strung to do that stuff.

Dude. They’re Mormons. He’s got mega generational wealth. They’re in a different stratosphere than us normies. If they had to do the “traditional” down home on the farm lifestyle without daddy’s billions I guarantee you, things would be different. I have a feeling the author also left a lot out. No doubt they had a full medical team on site during labor “just in case.” It’s a lot easier to let the man run the house when his dad is a multi billionaire. She’s not being abused or deprived of anything. Trust me. Some women are cut out for that kind of dynamic, others aren’t. I honestly wish I was cut out for that lifestyle, my life would be much easier today, but my ex husband was a total prick & I’m not good at pretending just because he made 6 figures out of college & his parents were very wealthy. Of course that meant he decimated me in the divorce so, too bad I couldn’t just fucking pretend. This isn’t “trad.”

I had no choice (fast baby) so i relate to them my story of if i could have moved I would have leaped from the hospital window to my death happily to stop the pain. There are no prizes for suffering and birth is played down far too much. THat whole culture just angers me, women need to stop playing into being pitted against each other and fight for better pregnancy/birth care.

Notice the redefining of terms to rewrite history. Ballerinas were LITERALLY se× workers. Ballets were LITERALLY used to showcase the young girls available for purchase. It VERY MUCH seems like the husband is in control, to a frightening degree. He pushed for a very quick marriage, he gets everything his way while she's making all the sacrifices, he steps in to answer questions for her, and then how it seems like he's the one not allowing his wife pain relief when birthing his children?! That didn't seem like her choice at all, and the fact that she only got an epidural when he was not present and lowered her voice to talk about it says a LOT. This whole thing is sounding like he trapped her to use as a broodmare and enjoys her suffering.

This is just trying to prove that you are better than anyone else. I saw SO much of this in my 99.9% Mormon/LDS neighborhood. These women compete about how little they can eat in a day. One was the Goddess of the neighborhood/star status because all she ate every day was one boiled egg. I have so many other stories about the insane sexual repression. Some disown their kids for even questioning their sexuality. I lived in an expensive LDS neighborhood and they were ALL so obsessed with what their neighbors had because God “blesses you” with expensive cars, big houses, etc. there is SO much pressure on these women.
