Jenna, THANK YOU SO MUCH for doing this video. I have the same make and model stove (might look different once I open the top up) and my front left burner stopped heating. I got the part from GE like you did and am working up the courage to change it out. I'm a 74 year old woman who prefers to doing everything myself instead of overpaying a guy to do it. But I have never done anything like this. Oh heck...wait a minute...I'm just going to go get it done. I'M BACK!!! I did exactly like Jenna said...pulled each connection off the burned out unit and put it immediately on the new unit on at a time. Worked like a charm!!! I'm so proud of myself...and owe it all to Jenna!! THANKS AGAIN!!!

Thank you for putting this video together. Very well done. I figured it was a pretty simple replacement but it's nice to have something to verify that before digging in. Your "baby" should now be about 11 years old. I hope you are teaching them to be self-sufficient too!

Thank you so so so much for this video. Failed an inspection due to the largest and most used burner not working. I reviewed your video, found and installed the part myself. I'm not a prego, just a 46year old [lady] electric range repair virgin. Inspector will be back tomorrow and thanks to you, we will pass with flying color. Wishing you and your baby the best. Can't thank you enough. GIRL POWER - ALL DAY! :-)

Great job! I just installed a main top on a Whirlpool stove, slightly different, but saved me almost $400 in service call and labor from Ace Appliance Repair in Swanton Md! Took me 35 mins or so taking my time. Ace quoted me $100 over Repair Clinics parts price, plus labor estimate $150, also show up charge $99, total job Ace's price total was $650! Plus wait 3 weeks! Instead chose to order part from Repair Clinic for $267 and put in myself! Thanks for the vid and thumbs up to RepairClinic.

Nice video. It is very helpful to have a second person (or device) to hold the stove top in the up position. Also, if using a generic or replacement part, I would advise making sure the connections (1A, 2A, 1B, 2B) are consistent with the original (not working) burner. The job is easy and only took us 15 minutes.

I do admire her will to fix her own appliances and save money but I think one thing to add to this video is that having the proper tools, or something close to proper tools, can save you a lot of grief and time. Her adjustable wrench to loosen a couple of 5mm hex/Phillips bolts/screws is a bit large by orders of magnitude and can damage a fastener and make it un-removable by common means. If you want to fix your own stuff, it's not rocker science for a willing and determined individual, tool-up just a little bit. You can buy a competent home fix-it tool set selection at your local Harbor Freight or Lowe's for 40 bucks (HF) or a little over twice that at Lowe's (better quality of course). Both have what you need to fix appliances like she is doing here and will make your repair easier.

Good Video, mine had a cross member with two spring loaded captured screws. Marked tho old locations and transferred the marks to the new burner and up and running. Had to drop one side of the cross member. Old one burned through a spot in the small element. Be Careful when handling the new element as the clay insulation is fragile and will break.

Interesting. That kid must be 12 or 13 years old by now. Good job! You can use a piece of a piece of a 2 x 4 cut to a handy length (24") to prop up the stove top while you are replacing the burner. That way you don't need the camera person (hubby?) to hold it up. Good job!

Thanks, very useful video. I recently bought a second hand glass top stove. I make Roti (bread) regularly in my home, after using this stove, I feel as if it not heated enough to let me make roti :( I feel it's at least 4 to 5 points (according to the nob points) lesser than the electric stove. Am I right? Or something wrong with the stove? It turns red, all of the stove but I don't get the desired heat. How do I check if it's heating properly? Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks
