I was able to see the difference between a preliminary investigation and an inquest proceeding. Preliminary investigation takes place before the guilty party the offense is arrested, while inquest investigation is done after the offender is apprehended. Good day Atty. In this lesson I've learned the differences between the Preliminary Investigation and Inquest Proceeding. In Preliminary Investigation the person is not yet arrested and detained and there is no warrant of arrest yet. While in Inquest Proceeding the person is already arrested and detained and there is no need for warrant of arrest. I've also learned that the purpose of Priliminary Investigation is to determine the PROBABLE CAUSE OF FILING AN INFORMATION.
