Yeah nobody who supports Liverpool is surprised. This is part of the reason Klopp quit. He knew the refs hated Liverpool and were biased against him. The fact Liverpool were always near City for the title and even won it once is actually unbelievable. Klopp is a massive legend for that.

I can think of three reasons: 1) there's a chance, however negligible, that the video is a deep fake; 2) more importantly, good journalism ethics requires not stating allegations as facts until they've been substantiated, and they haven't authenticated the video themselves; 3) far more likely, UK Defamation Laws are MUCH less favorable toward free speech and so they are protecting their British assets by reporting it as allegation rather than fact,

Simply embarrassing himself and the PGMOL is something that could be forgiven by the PGMOL, and would normally be dealt with by a slap on the wrist. Howard Webb would surely be inclined to call it water under the bridge. But calling a manager out as a "German c***" embarrasses the EPL itself in front of its world audience, and the PGMOL cannot allow a member to so embarrass those who control the purse strings.

Coote's comments are seriously worrying, most especially for Liverpool FC, for in his anti-Liverpool tirade he says " . . .WE all hate Scousers . . ." who is the "WE" he's referring to, the rest of his buddies, ergo the rest of the Prem officials? That needs to be ascertained by putting him under some serious pressure, for who else could he be referring to? Also if he said that about say any ethnic group, Starmer would have him behind bars right now, but because it's Scousers he gets a walk-over, the whole system stinks from top to bottom. I am a Liverpool fan, and they have been on the wrong end of a disproportionate amount of bad calls. I think that PGMOL should look closer into situations where a club, player, or coach seems to be exceedingly at the wrong end of bad decisions. I hope there is a code of conduct regarding impartiality. Referees should call what they see and stop interpreting calls based on reputation or feelings and allow VAR to intervene when they misinterpret what they see. This should be done automatically for a call that changes the outlook of a game. A bad call that results in a in a goal from a free kuck should be reviewed, for example.

Honestly, I don't see a problem with a ref disliking or liking teams as long as he calls a fair game. If his rulings are impartial, that's all that matters (in my opinion). Coote has such a poor record in the Liverpool matches he has refereed or VAR'd, and now that we see that his bias is likely to have influenced his decisions, I can't see him being allowed to continue. A bigger problem though is VAR. This should remove the bad decisions, but clearly VAR's focus was to protect the officials involved in the match. VAR should be given to a group not aligned with PGMOL in the future. This has been another in a series of failures by PGMOL.

Coote is suspended for using foul language. What type of language has players and coaches used against referees on a regular basis? Have referees been verbally and physically assaulted by players, coaches, and fans. Mourinho has made a career insulting referees and it is condoned.
