This dude is super humble, comes across and a great guy who after all these years of playing still loves it as much as the first day he picked up a guitar. He basically did this interview/run down all by himself, he is an endorsers dream. No wonder Fender look after him so well.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again; while Zombie and Manson are not my cup of tea, John 5 is nothing but the BEST. I met him once at the Winter NAMM in Anaheim, CA and he was the most pleasurable to have met. He is intellectual, took his time to speak with me (and I'm a nobody in the music scene except a hobbyist). At 17:33 in this video he curses YET takes time and has the awareness to apologize to the kids who may be watching. Is that a Class Act or what!. This guy is awesome and I've enjoyed listening to him often. I'm 62 yrs of age and love the man! Thanks PG for the interview.
@tomsawyer21129 жыл бұрын
Fender Fan Agree, I didn't even know he was playing for Zombie and Manson. He's much more worth then that, it's the first time I see him talking, he also cares about his business, no negative opinion on any of his guitars, they probably can't speak straight without risking to get sued. But he let's his guitars speak, and I'd like to see him jam with Buckethead.
@richardaaron44547 жыл бұрын
I couldn't agree more... He's very underrated to be as talented as he is and yeah I don't like Manson or Zombie. I remember some festival tour he was on, he would teach one of the guitar players riffs, tricks, tips, etc... and then that guitar player would go teach all the other guitar players what he learned from John 5. I thought that was so cool, so even though he might not be thought of as one of the best by the populous, guitar players in other bands all know how great he is.
@2ndDaniel4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I saw him play with Manson in 1999, his solos and tone were out of this world!!! It was an interesting dichotomy or multiple dichotomies because a relatively unknown Coldplay, Aerosmith, Green Day, Stp, Manson, the black crows and Cyprus Hill all played on the same stage that day

After all these years, still my favorite rig rundown, by my still, favorite guitarist, J5. I became a devotee many years ago when I left a random comment on one of his facebook pictures about enjoying the struggle in trying to learn to play one of his songs. The dude took the time to write a novel in return for everyone in the thread on the tricks he used to make the song. It was like a damn Jedi divining a skill onto his trainee's. The way he said it was filled with wisdom, and it made sense; and damn... it nailed what I needed to know to nail his song. The guy gives a lot back to his people, and he genuinely seems to know that he's in an amazing place in life. Somehow, he was raised to want to lift others up with him. A true class act of an artist.
