This tooth was said to be healthy and this also happened when I was eating. I have a piece of it sticking into my mouth hanging on and happily since I don’t mouth breathe it doesn’t feel as sensitive I was hoping you’d tell us how to remove it ourselves if we could and if it’s a bad idea etc…

my permanent retainer wire must be weakened or something, because within 30 minutes of removing my hawley retainer, a small gap forms between my two front teeth. I had a big gap there before braces. One of my bottom from teeth came loose from my permanent retainer and just within the past month, it crooked and bucked out just like it was 30 years ago when I got braces. I am now going to have to get braces again because that bottom front tooth that's now twisted and bucked out is now pushing into the back of my front top tooth, that is also twisted. My top front tooth and bottom front tooth are now twistng into eachother and pushing on eachother to the point it's unbearable. I'm either going to get braces again or false teeth - It's that bad!!! It's also affecting how my back teeth come together when I chew and it makes my lips look crooked with my mouth closed and I'm having jaw pain, on and on... Please, as soon as your permanent retainer becomes loose, get it fixed immediately!!! Don't wait and wind up like I am now!!! it's a nightmare!!! 😞😢😢😢

if someone wear a permanent retainer for a long time (10,15 years) and is there any chance to remove them without any bad effect?
@Tonya_G.2 жыл бұрын
@@CeylonLastMile No, my permanent retainer has been attached to my bottom front teeth since 1994 (28 years). That one bottom front tooth come unglued to that retainer about 5 years ago. What made it twist outward like it did a few months ago, is that I ordered a lot of vegetables from Misfits Market at the end of October, and I chowed down in a lot of raw uncooked broccoli, and that's what made that front bottom tooth just twist out more, just like it was in 1991 right before I got my braces on. I still have yet to go to a dentist and an orthodontist. What has happened since, I last made my comment is that bottom tooth has twisted even more and has been twisting into the top front tooth right above it (They're in this twisting war with each other). Because of this, my top front tooth has twisted toward the inside of my mouth so much so, along with the bottom front to twisting with, and into it, that I'm having trouble talking and eating. I have to talk through these two front and bottom teeth that are twisted into, and pushing and pulling on each other constantly even with my mouth at rest. My back teeth are now misaligned when I eat now too. It's a nightmare!!! I've been postponing it because I'm trying to get finances lined up and I haven't been to the dentist in many years and I have a chipped back tooth, so I know I will probably have to have some dental work done before I can even go to get braces plus I want to have my teeth professionally whitened beforehand. It's hard to use those Crest Whitestrips on real crooked front teeth plus they hurt my gums and make them swell up! 😬 In order to whiten my teeth, I can't avoid those strips from resting against my gums because of the way may teeth are shaped. I've been miserable and uncomfortable and I use to have a bottom lip, but it has mostly disappeared, because that bottom and top front tooth has twisted into each other so much so, that it looks like I'm biting down on something!!! I'm basically biting down on that bottom front tooth with my top front tooth because they are twisted into each other, so my lips appear as if I'm biting down on something, making my lips hang crooked. I feel so ugly right now because of this. My lips were my favorite feature on my face that I felt good about. I have to draw out the left side of my bottom lip with lip liner to make them not look so lopsided when putting lipstick on. I've cried a lot. This has had a major impact on my self esteem. I know now in order to fix not only the pain I'm having from this, and the effect it's having on my looks, I will have to endure 2 to 3 years of braces or Invisalign. I'm 47 and will be spending the last 3 years of my 40s with braces or Invisalign!!! 🙄 I do wish I could just afford to get my front teeth Veneered!!! 🙄 So, no, to answer your question, do not have your permanent retainer removed (!!!), because, you will not only have one tooth that goes crooked and/or juts out, but you will have multiple teeth that do this, plus they'll be pushing and twisted into the top front teeth, making them twist, and then, this in turn, makes your back teeth not line up right when chewing, and then they (the back teeth) tilt a different way to compensate for this!!! 😳 - It's a domino effect that never ends!!! Not to mention the jaw and neck pain (right underneath the left side of my chin I've been having). You also feel like you have someone else's teeth in your mouth because you feel the front teeth twisting, pushing/pulling into eachother and the back teeth are misaligned when you chew - (That's the best way to describe it!!! - It feels as if someone else's teeth have been put in your mouth and they don't fit!!! ) You don't want this!!! Please listen!!! 🙏

@Tonya_G.2 жыл бұрын
@@DP-mz8fo No, I'm still waiting on going to the dentist and orthodontist. My top front tooth keeps twisting and won't stop, from the bottom tooth being twisted up against the back of it, and my back teeth don't come together right when I chew and almost chip eachother. I can't close my mouth all the way when it's at rest because that top left front and bottom tooth are twisted against each other (I can't bring my lower jaw up enough to where my bottom front teeth rest behind my top front teeth). I can keep my lips closed, but my lips look as if I'm biting down or chewing on something with my front teeth. I'm waiting on going because I need some financial help from someone who can't help me right now. I haven't been to the dentist in a long time, so I probably have some dental work to be done beforehand, before I can even get braces. I'm miserable, but this has made me take a closer look at myself and my life, and I have made changes starting with my weight, and I have lost 30 pounds over the past 6 months and I feel better about myself for that. Now, I just need to get my teeth fixed. 😊

Removable retainers work great! Any local orthodontist should be able to remove your permanent retainers and get you set up with a removable retainer.

If my permanent retainer become bend at the end, and the bend point is breaking. And my bite is onto the permanent retainer. The dentist can’t bend it back to the old position without breaking it. Can the dentist, take it off and put a new one back? Or they have to just use and fixed the old one?
@PremierOrthodontics3 жыл бұрын
Great question! More than likely the Orthodontist will have to repair the entire permanent retainer for you for the best outcome.

Best bet is still to check with your local Orthodontist on what they think. Hope that helps!

If the retainer is bonded well you shouldn't need to worry about it. Most permanent retainers will last for years without any problems with breakage. Just make sure to clean around the retainer regularly and floss - if it does break all that is required is a quick visit to the orthodontist' office for a repair.

I had a gap, got braces and got my teeth fixed. About a week ago the bond on my top right tooth came loose, after 3 years. I got it fixed but now it seems like a tiny gap is forming. What can I do to prevent a gap from coming back? I only wear my regular retainers before bed. Should I use them daily?
@PremierOrthodontics3 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you may need a new retainer. Over time the retainers can get loose and not hold the teeth as tightly as needed. A new retainer should help

Does it need to be an orthodontist who completely replaces a permanent retainer? I have had the glue adhesive replaced a few times by my normal dentist, but my wire just broke and I don't know if it would be better to reach out to an orthodontic office instead.
@PremierOrthodontics3 жыл бұрын
Some dentists will do permanent retainers while others will refer you out to an orthodontist. You can definitely ask your dentist to see if it's something they would be comfortable doing.

If I wear my teeth whitener retainer I got from fitted from my dentist. Will my teeth shift ?
@PremierOrthodontics3 жыл бұрын
It depends on how rigid the whitening tray is that you received. Some whitening trays will work, others may be too soft to hold your teeth in the right position. It would be best to double check with your orthodontist

Unfortunately our teeth will continue to shift for the rest of our our lives... The only way to guarantee straight teeth for life is to have retainers for life. That means either wearing a permanent retainer or a removable retainer. We always tell our patients that you only need to have retainers for as long as you want straight teeth :)

which retainer is best for upper and lower jaw permanent or removal?
@PremierOrthodontics3 жыл бұрын
Both work well. For some people they don't trust themselves to wear a removable retainer, so in these cases a permanent retainer probably would be the better option. If you are committed to wearing retainers for life then a removable retainer will work great!

There are certain times that one type of retainer may work better in certain situations, but generally all retainers will work great. Your doctor will be able to advise you on the best type for you

How many time we can do tooth scalinh ? My dentist done it more than 6 time's! Will it can damage my tooth in future 😬
@PremierOrthodontics3 жыл бұрын
Scaling is removing calculus or tartar buildup from the tooth surface - it generally doesn't hurt or damage the teeth it is just cleaning the teeth. Usually every time you go in for a dental exam/cleaning the dental or hygienist will scale your teeth. This is 100% okay and is good for your dental health and gum health :)

How were you able to continue wearing your removable retainer if your teeth were moving back. At some point you had to have noticed it no longer fit if that was the case. I want to remove my permanent retainer it’s so much harder to floss and overall just takes longer to keep up my hygiene. I’d rather have a Harley retainer or removable retainer.
