Another great video. Love it. The grinder looks great. Maybe I’ll get one too. Already happy with the orca.

Thanks!! Other than the little things I mentioned I think this is a great grinder. I think if people already have a similar grinder it’s not really an upgrade but if you’re in the market for a new one I think it packs a pinch for the price. For me how quickly and easily you can take it apart for cleaning makes it a winner alone!!

One thing I did to make gripping my J-MAX a little easier is that I saved several rubber bands that formerly held broccoli and asparagus together and added them to the band that came with the grinder. HUGE improvement. Plus putting some above and one or two below the grind adjustment ring might prevent accidental adjustment during the grind. Another thing I found from another KZbinr (Aramse) was a tip to hold the grinder at a 45 degree angle, which slows the feed, so you’re grinding less beans at a time. It takes twice as many cranks to get the job done, but each crank is half as hard to do. Aramse also suggested that the slower feed will create less fines. Don’t know if that’s true, but it sure helps with denser beans.

Aaron, I was surprised to find my payment went to a foreign Capital Investment Company rather than a U.S. entity. Elephantnum was hard to track down. Great grinder.

Is there a similarly priced hand grinder that you like for filter brews?
@coffeenerdaaron10 күн бұрын
There are some KINgrinder and Timemore hand grinders that aren’t much more than this that I think are probably better at filter brewing. I have a Timemore Chestnut S3 right now that I’ve been enjoying. It’s more expensive but there are cheaper Timemores that use a similar burr. I enjoyed the KINgrinder K6 as well for filter but I don’t have any experience with their little bit less expensive models.

Hello, I have been trying to remove the burrs but it is very hard to remove the lock, I simply cannot and I am afraid to apply too much force and damage it, how can I remove it? I see the video but I am not able to do it

I'm planning on getting a Flair 58 in the next month or so. Is there any specific grinder you'd recommend to go with it? (Under $400 ideally)

Are you wanting manual or electric?
@avramsanders9198 Жыл бұрын
@@coffeenerdaaron electric would be preferred but not really I just want whatever is best in that price range! Was thinking either the MHW-3 bomber or a Vario but not sure if they're better options than a good hand grinder

@@avramsanders9198 check out the Turin SK40, you can get it from Espresso Outlet. I’ll have a review of it coming soon. It’s like $200 and for the money it’s really good! Makes great espresso.

Aaron you need to try a ZP6 for the filter profile. It's so much cleaner than the average conical burr.
@robojimtv Жыл бұрын
Also it's not a bad price but I wonder why not just get a Kingrinder at a similar price that has better ergonomics likely and the bigger burr there will make grinding easier too.
@coffeenerdaaron Жыл бұрын
Yes I’ve heard that about the ZP6. I have some friends who have them and they love them!

I already have a k4, k6, Q2 hept, and I have the POTU ghost burr handgrinder on delivery (looks very similar to the orca tbh). I gotta stop getting handgrinders 😅

Haha! 😂 love it

Nice collection, what are your thoughts about K6 vs POTU ghost burrs and also the Q2 if you can mention the differences. Thank you!
@WTFA54 Жыл бұрын
@@michael-c. I feel like ghost burrs are a very weird niche and create a kinda unique cup profile! The Potu has been giving me a very clean cup but it's very smooth and rounded. I feel like often clarity has some sharpness to it that allows origin notes to come through cleanly on like a stark canvas whereas the clarity from ghost burrs is a much softer clarity that comes through on a gentler mouthfeel and finish. Specifically comparing the Q2 Hept, the K6, and the POTU, I feel like the Q2 gives a good balance between clarity and complexity, allowing some origin notes to shine through but still yielding a well-structured cup, the K6 is... kinda similar to the Q2 but perhaps has a little more clarity and a little less structure , and the POTU is very clear and round but not complex at all in my opinion

Seems like CafeSing is doing things right with the Orca and this Grizz grinder.
