I recently bought the polygon strattos 7, the 105 mechanical setup. At more than 40% cheaper than big name brands in the USA, I'm very happy with the quality, the price and have gotten several comments on it. If you're on the fence, do it, you won't regret it!

For anyone looking for something similar, Lynskey (a titanium frame company) is selling complete titanium bikes w/ 105 DI2 or SRAM Rival for less than $4000. No full integrated cockpit, but definitely a bike worth considering

Great review! I have this exact bike, bought for $4600aud about a month ago. I agree that you would be hard pressed to find better value for money. Similar experience of hitting pb's without any extra effort proving that the bike is actually "faster". My previous bike had mechanical disc brakes so the upgrade to hydraulic disc brakes on this bike is the most noticeable improvement for me!

Your last point about exploring different cycling mindsets is spot on; the more we pigeon hole ourselves, the more we create separation in the cycling community. Each discipline definitely has their “fast” bike…I’m just glad to see there are more affordable race ready options. As an aside, I was never much a Shimano fan especially after toying with SRAM etap; however, after playing with the 105 di2 myself, it’s definitely becoming a preference when it comes to e-shifting. I would definitely like to see more tuning options in the e-tube app for better configuration with other Shimano hardware, such as going with Ultegra 11-32 or 11-30 cassettes to hopefully take advantage of the hyper glide ++ tech…which might be marginal gains, but if that means more comfort in the knees while racing, I’ll take it.

NB : I have pacific primum, wich is knock off from BMC time machine aero bike. Primum has significant weigh, compared to polygon stratos or united sterling lineup

A fair price for the package. I have an allergy to the integrated cockpit concept however. They have no place on anything other than pro level bikes with access to mechanics and multiple bar options to adjust fit. I get the "clean lines" benefit but on virtually every other criteria they're a net negative.

Much more solid/ less flex. But you need to know your bike fit, stem length for your size.

While there are camps saying Di2 is faddish and not going to replace mechanical, I thought the same of rim brakes. Even though there are still rim brakes available, the bike manufacturers are certainly fazing these out and one day disc is all that will be sold. I have held out as long as many and most.......I plan to with my next bike go Di2 and disc as the future of biking and manufacturers are going to force it. Get on board or stand in the crowd as they say. That said, the Helios A7X looks like a winner for the money,

I complaint about products manufactured in China because the CCP uses our addiction to bargains to finance global domination. Sometimes products are manufactured in China and sent through and stamped in other places, like Malaysia, to avoid tariffs. However, this is not the case with Polygon. Polygon frames and in-house Entity rims are made right there in Indonesia, which I think is great. We fortunately have had new Polygons here and there in my area in South Carolina for a few years now, and I can say they are very nice bikes. Go Polygon! Thanks and all the best.

this is wrong. normally you would buy the frame size according to your body size. if your legs are shorter, this means your upper body is longer and you would need increased reach. therefore you'd lower the seatpost and buy a size larger @@YannickLB

yes very much. 2 things i dont like: 1. shimanos di2 is noisy. (sounds like cheap children toy robots) 2. the size recommendation should be taken with a grain of salt. i have XL which is recommended from 182-187cm. im 188cm and the reach is slightly too long. you can barely adjust the reach because the cockpit is one piece, so i had to adjust the brakes slightly to the top. apart from that its a great bike. i rode a canyon fitnessbike beforehand and crushed all my records without even putting effort to it. i have the highest increases in flat terrain, most likely due to the aggressive seating (more aero). @@leggodeuces

WARNING....I just got my new Bend and it came with defective wheels that wont seal because the valve stem holes are drilled way off center and Polygon will not replace

Most modern rims are drilled asymmetrically by design; it’s meant to balance ds and nds spoke tensions. It doesn’t affect the ability to seal tubeless.

@@TheBikeSauce Bikesonline did everything they could to reject my claim and only offered to have it retaped, which has nothing to do with the defective wheelset. After many back and forth emails they finally agreed to submit the claim to Polygon. Polygon then acknowledged the defect and will be sending me replacement wheels three months from now, unaceptable. BTW Bikesonline 30 day return policy is marketing BS, if you ride one time you own it without the ability to return it.

ppl don't use so much electronic shifting in MTB, unless you talk about XC or rich trail riders/sunday warriors. it just doesn't makes sense, too expensive and too easy to damage and no real advantages - exactly the same as on a road bike (btw, i have ultregra/dura-ace di2 and i don't see any big advantages comparing to ultegra R8000. especially not for the price difference)

@@TheBikeSauce new mechs are a disaster, 12s sram is way bigger than 11s XT, GX AXS is even bigger. I was hitting it 1-2 times on every ride (rocks or stumps). wrecked completely after few months, the same happened to my mate's AXS. Now Im back to 11s XT, no problems and no hits at all !
