I used to work for halfords, dont get the transfer. The amount of times I opened one “fresh” out the box to find a buckled wheel or bent forks is outstanding. They cant handle a high amount of miles. Perfect for a few miles a week and really persistent maintenance and care but we’d service so many that were new with squeaky brakes or gearing issues. Annual services after a year would feel like the bike was 5 years old and not one. If you’re gonna go hybrid from halfords the crossfire is the best option.

To be fair to Halfords their bike shown at £175 is quite often on offer at much less .

£449 is premium? 😂. That thing is awful. 3×9 is not acceptable

Much better available for the money

@@peterd4011 You're correct that £450 is hardly 'premium' in the context of enthusiast bikes but you forget there is a vast blue ocean of the so-far unconverted who just need a good-value start on the path of true righteousness by getting to work on time. If that leads them to spending more to complement their growing enthusiasm, then that's great.

@@NickRearden see my 2nd comment where I clearly state there is much better available for that money
