these exercises are Definately good.. but if you want natural birth and don't take c section or epidural Induced birth as first option.. you need to be physically very active.. household work except for lifting heavy objects and other highly physically demanding works.. you need to be in active mode till you sleep at night.. you should be mentally prepared for the kind of pain you are going to experience and learn why labour pain is so painfull so as to ease the impending fear from your mind and read only positive aspects of it.. and made up your mind. including these exercises which can boost your confidence and denaneur towards natural childbirth..

radolf p I wouldn't recommend any one to prepare for pain in labour, because labour doesn't have to be painful. Find out about orgasmic birth, painfree labour and so on. I had one and if I didn't know that labor can be really nice, I would not relax before the birth and tense myself up because I would think I will have pain. So, its how you put your mind at it and research as well!

I believe these exercises are used as a reminder to rely on your breath and body to pull you through contractions, not necessarily promoting the pain of labor.

radolf p I know so many people that have been active and had good natural birth with no epidural you have to be so impossibly active the way you are describing mum had 4 children natural with no epidural

radolf p der is no such data that epidural labour analgesia will invariably lead to c- section. I have seen many ppl delivering normally. Epidural will not reduce uterine contractions. Its a good invention. Painless delivery.
