Nice game but I’ve noticed you loose a lot of pieces/games by playing ‘danger levels’ without first calculating all your opponents potential escape moves, see @6:25. Unless you’re willing to spend a minute or two calculating all your opponents potential moves maybe best save danger levels for longer time controls.

Interesting, and there's a choice of two ROOOOOOKs as well.

Another nice scalp for the GG. Amazing how a little pressure can make people crack so quickly. Inspired by yesterday's video I Thought I'd boot up the old puzzle rush, 52 today.

I like your Goring course as it's really aimed at 800 to 1500 players, I've bought courses on other platforms before which say similar level, but the lines they cover are not often seen under 2000. And I'm no 2000 player.

Well I'm over 1500 and I learned a lot from doing it, still learning, so maybe a bit higher, but I don't disagree with you. Thanks

My recommendation would be lots of tactical exercises. 11.Qxb7 wins material on the spot. You proposed: 11.Nd4 a6 12.Qa4 (Qxb7 is still good) b5?? 13. Ncxb5 (not Qd1?) as the a pawn is pinned to the rook Later in the game: 13.Nxe6 which is not bad but Rc1! is way more fun and gives the opponent MANY ways to go wrong. 13...Kxc7? 14.Nd4! when the best move (Ne7 is not losing as bad) is not so obvious. One typical crusher: 14...a6?? 15.Rxc6+! Kd7 16.Rxa6+ Later in the game: 14.0-0-0 (Rc1, always be suspicious about castling so that your king is on an open or half opened file) a6 15. Ne5+?? ('nuff said, moving too fast) 15...Kc7! 16.Qd3?? (moving too fast w/plenty of time on the clock, you literally see why its bad right after you moved, Qb3/c4 is better, attacking e6 and at least getting a pawn for the lost knight) Later: 17.Qc3+?! (Qb3 eyeing e6) Kd7?? (Nc6) 18. Kc1?? (Qxe5! the pawn is pinned to the king. When you make a bad move, take some breaths & settle back in) 18...h6 19.Qxe5! hxg5 20.Rxd6 Bxd6 21.Rd1 19.Bf4 Nf7 20.Rhe1 (e5 or Rc1) Rc8 21.Qb3 (Qb4!, b7 is under attack so d5 is no threat) b5 22.Qa3 (e5! king is in the middle, have to try to open lines 22...d5 23.Rxd5+!) Anyways, I think the point is clear. I do like the opening you picked because if black thinks "Ruy Lopez" with ...Nc6, most opponents are going to be lost on what to do against quick development at these lower levels. It is probably even better at quicker time constraints. _“Of course, errors are not good for a chess game, but errors are unavoidable and in any case, a game without errors, or as they say 'flawless game' is colorless.”_ ― Mikhail Tal God bless!
