Thank you! Yesterday at the square I started 1e4 to play the King’s Gambit but the guy went french and I couldn’t remember the theory, and found out I hate french as white. The Alapin looks great, “not french at all” as you said. Thanks!

very nice, I looked this up around 600elo for obvious reasons. I find it easiest to do it similar to a rook king vs king endgame where you just cut the king off for each row and walk the king till they're forced to face opposite of your king then check up a row (down or side to side, whichever way your headed) till they reach the last row. maybe row 8, then I'll keep my queen on row 7. if they can head toward my queen I walk my king closer to theirs till either they are directly apart from my own on row 6 which is M1, or keep moving my queen in as close as I can safely get it till the queen is on d7 or e7. the king can only move between a8 and b8.or g8 and h8. from there I just walk the king to b6 or g6 and mate with the queen on b7 or g7. probably not the fastest way to do it, but much of it can be removed if you can corner the king that way. and if your opponent pissed you off some lhow you can take the king for a walkabout just as long as you land on the correct square to deliver the queens mate in the end... and you don't pass up 50 moves or draw by repitition lol.

I started playing ~4 weeks ago and have done the last week declined from ~500 to ~450. It's true that I stumble upon players that blunder like that, and I sometimes do it myself (due to time pressure). But I agree with a precis commentator that I've never seen three blunts this blatant. Seems to me that ~400 can hold almost any skull since you also face players that might be experienced over the board that just created an account and so on so forth.. Either way, thx a TON for good pointers delivered in a clear and pleasant way!

at 34:12, not Bishop. Just keep moving your K up as needed to prevent opponent from getting to the corner. h pawn just walks in.

I am very much entertained. You caught in review the most important, the bishop check, Thank you Ben.
@niravapurv4578Ай бұрын
Entertained sertainly. At 26:48 You missed a simple Nxf2. When you moved king out of check and then when they took rook, you find very nice Nxc5. But black as having 2 knights hanging can move one with check, then move the other to defend the first one.
@niravapurv4578Ай бұрын
27:48 Black missed Nxd5.
@niravapurv4578Ай бұрын
At 28:20 i think you are right, Kxd8 is probably not best as it might leave you with bishop pair in a relatively open board endgame. But Nxd5 dont win a officer for black as e2 knight also is hanging, black can only take a officer at a time. But a2 pawn might be hanging in that variation, perhaps white can play a3 counter attacking the knight before moving the d8 knight, but if Kxd8 white has to play axb4, getting double pawns. My guess is that endame is either winning or very advantageous for black.
@niravapurv4578Ай бұрын
28:42 Bg8 Very nice move from you. I thought Bf3 to attack the knight. But black can just play Nd4 and you did not acheve a lot, after Bg8 it looks like black is in deep trouble. The knights defending eachother can be nice, but can also weakk witch is very well illustrated here. They could still play Nd4, they probably have too.. but they loose an important pawn, so the other gets weak.
