We are in southwest florida, and at the time of this video, hurricane milton appears to be a direct impact to us. As I post this, it is currently predicted to be a category 5 major hurricane. We will continue to prepare for the farm, the barn, the horses and all my pets for whats to come.

Reading about the devastation and horror stories after hurricane Helene, I checked Instagram, which I don't normally use, to check for updates on you and your lovely family to make sure you were all ok. Since Covid, I try to keep extra feed on hand, so I have a re-order point that won't leave me close to running out or finding the store is out of a product. I'm doing similar for my canned goods for humans. If it's that close to a storm, then could find Tractor Supply is out of stock. Guess good that the store probably got in extra supplies in preparation. Glad the store wasn't out. - I do drainage work like your husband when ground is wet & take photos of where things pool up, but I wear rubber boots vs socks & flip flops. That skidsteer is great to have on hand!!!

Storm prepping here just north of Tampa. I put wood pallets, with sheets of plywood on top, in my 24' x 12' chicken run to keep the girls' feet dry. A lot less work! Stay safe!

Y'all should consider getting refillable 5 gallon water jugs. It's so much better... we keep 6 and just replace the water every 6 months. It's takes twice the amount of water that is in the bottle to make the bottle lol. Just crazy.
