You can add shorter logs underneath the horizontal logs, which lets you remove 1 extra vertical log per "strut" as the in game guide book calls them. Also works for overhangs! Also to remove the horizontal supports that had the vertical ones taken out, you just have to temporarily add the vertical ones back in to remove them. So as long as the roof has the strut supports, you can make up to a 5x5 of open space at whatever height you want just by filling it with 1x1 scaffolding every tile and removing them all from the inside as you build downwards Seems like you have to remove from the top down or else they end up structurally significant

God I've been looking forward to this series since announcement day. You're the only youtuber I've seen who has ever been able to play sons effectively so far. The game fucking sucks. The cannibals are boring. No screaming, essentially no audio with footsteps. You hit them and there's no reaction. They stand still. There's absolutely no point to building a base like this. Completely useless. The environment is empty. And the story... it's not even finished. Audio is missing at the end. The game is literal ass.

to stop the logs from falling u can add a half log under the logs basically creating a support so u can remove the logs from underneath the other logs all u need to to is take a half log walk up to the corner of the joint logs until u see an arrow with a swooping animation pointing upwards and place it in similar to making the floor when its uneven and u have to place a log under another to even it out hope this helps :)

On the book of pre built things there are traps that once you place them, they stun, kill, burn enemies (and deer) and the only thing you have to do is reset them at no cost and they will keep doing their work. Basically free defenses for the rest of your base, also you can make half defensive walls (like cutting the logs in half), although they may be not as effective as the full log ones, they surely will keep the cannibals busy for a while. I can't wait for the next episode >_

Kevin can do so much more than catch logs, hes a crazy good fisherman, stick hunter, rock gatherer. The fishing honestly is nuts if hes at a lake, I run 2 racks and he fills them both in no time.

I got the rope gun today. It can be used to make ziplines. Whats also cool is the zipline works both ways for you and logs. you need to 3d print grappling hooks and combine with rope. the use the the gun to shoot to attach for both ends. Also i havent found a limit to how long it can be yet. it pretty awsome :) i was struggling running back and forth before with logs even with kelvin and the sled doesnt work for moving logs its just like the old turtle shell.

You can build struts under the corners of where the logs connect to support the ceiling. Take a half log aimed at where the beam connects to the wall and then another on on the other side and you can remove the vertical beams and open up your room a lot more.

That place right there is the safest place to build on the Island. Add a fence with spiked tops all around and you are safe. I build there in every game I play and never get bothered by the cannibles.

Armour goes a LONG way. Find a decent cave with a few of the monsters, bring a few grenades and let rip. One well-placed grenade can easily net you upwards of 10 creepy armour, which looks UGLY on you but is a really good and easy way to get armour.

You can build on water once it is winter because the water freezes. Just build a rope bridge from land to your water base because the ice melts after winter but your base will remain.

Yo Broadbent, if you want to remove some beams and you can't, sometimes you can set up a half log to support one beam and then you can remove it, if it makes sense. Try to mess around with it, you can cheat the support system alot with the half logs

Sleep through your fist winter, enemies kep spawning you get nothing done, you also need t have stocked up on dried fish and meat. Also zombies walk through doors, you need to put one beam at a 45° angle in the middle of a 2 wide open 1st story. They can't get up it. Ground floor needs to be raised on struts on or have 1 wide slots for peeking and targeting enemies.

The stumps rot over time and disappear. This takes a relatively long time. At least that was my observation that at some point they were simply gone. Then the bushes will regrow and individual bushes become small trees. These just give sticks in the first place. If you leave them, they will become trees.

the survival book shows you how to span gaps with out a bunch of logs. you need small angled peices in the corners to help brace it.

There's a large clearing down the cliff with a moose spawn that's probably two zipline ropes away from you. I built my base on a cliff outjet on that same cliffside as you and it's one zipline away from me. Start at the lake and go towards the cliff. Follow the cliffside left for about 15-30 seconds and that's about where I'm at. I think I set up my zip at its max length so it would probably take two for you to reach it.

You should be able to see the clearing from the cliffside. If not just follow the river down and stay on the right side of the river but not directly next to the river. You should run into it.

In your custom building menu there's a gusset support log which *_allows you to remove all the interior column supports._* The gussets are half-logs that fit at an angle between the top of outer support columns and the overhead beams which rest on them. That menu has blueprints for a hunting shelter, bed, chair, log cabin etc. If you press X you'll switch to the custom building diagrams that shows you the basics of building customized walls, buildings, towers, etc. In that menu you'll see Struts on the page right after the Roof page.

Dont know if you know but if theres no wood around...just clone it. There's a method of cloning logs. Im not entirely sure if a host player can do it but you can do it online.

If there is no fish in the nearby lake, send Kelvin out to fish. Even if you do not physically see the fish to stab and catch, kelvin just... Spawns one for him to grab??

A lot of your beam issues can be solved with by struts bur there some issues still with that. Use half size logs in the corners to prop up the logs open your build book to see the diagram to anyone watching Again there's a stability bug though that's hard to explain you'll see when you start to build
