Dont visit North Korea. Tourist dollars go straight into nuclear weapon programmes. Besides you will only see a toy town built especially for Tourist and you will be expected to bow down to a statue of a dictator madman. It doesnt matter if you dont actually do it out of respect. The point is the local people see you do it thus reinforcing their beleifs that if even westerners bow down to the kims, they really must be special!! Dont go there, you will only be adding to the untold misery.

Why do they have to have their pockets checked? Why do they have to leave their camera's, sun glasses and coin money in the cloak room? Why all of the long instructions of what you must do, and what you mustn't do? NK sure has a lot of do's and don't s. Frankly I didn't go in some of the buidlings because they wanted me to bow to their leader which I would not do, so I told them my back hurt. They didn't like it but what could they do?

NK's especially in the tourist trade are told not to trust outsiders at all. That is why each group has at least two minders, and even those minders are watched by other minder, it's mind numbing. I've travels all over the world, and the only country that made me feel like I was in danger if I got off the beaten path was NK. I traveled freely even in China. NK's are a paranoid society not because of outsiders doing bad things, but because their leaders tell them to be that way or else.

Pyongyang looks like Washington DC. Cameras should be allowed so one can prove to the authorities that a visit was made. What if one has a seizure? Some medicines have to be carried in case of asthma or cardiac problems. The Smithsonian has displays of Washington's personal property. The big problem is that Pyongyang is off limits to most people.

This city was razed to the ground by US imperialism in the years between 1950 and 1953 . As it is seen here in this video this city is beautifully built by the people of DPR Korea and not at the expense of other peoples around the world .
