I used similar ones for my arrow carport. Mine came with a loop built on the the end so you can use it without any other hardware. Very good anchors.

WOW. Those anchors are cool, I've never seen any like that before. Nice Job.

Thanks! They seem to be holding after all this time.

Nice and clean, nothing to trip on. Never seen one like that. If your like me after your first summer thunderstorm with the 60mph wind gusts you'll uncross your fingers and run out to see if it worked on not!

Wow what a great idea. Don't you have the rebar holding the greenhouse down?
@HeirloomPermaculture Жыл бұрын
The greenhouse doesn't attach to the rebar. It just slides down over them.

I have a 12x24x8 tunnel I'm replacing another one with that got destroyed in those Christmas storms we had couple weeks ago. Alabama wind is about the same. I was stationed in Lawton. Good ol fort sill. Reckon these would work with my greenhouse ? It is the kind that you attach the cover to. It's by shelter logic who makes these anchors. One of those high dollar kits from Amazon. Thank you. Let me know what you think.

We just took this tunnel down and I had to dig up the anchors. They weren't going anywhere. And we only had them about 12 to 18 inches deep in places.

Fur trapping supply places sell the materials to make your own anchors.

If we don't anchor the post down, would concrete each post down hold up oklahoma wind? Such as not covering the post with dirt but instead with concrete.
@HeirloomPermaculture4 жыл бұрын
Honestly the caterpillar tunnels are designed to be easily broken down and moved to new beds. I only anchored ours so that any damage from a storm would collapse it in place and not let it blow into somebody's house. I can still move the tunnel over one width and still utilize half of the anchors where they already are. If you are wanting yours more permanent with concrete, a more traditional high tunnel design might be more robust. Just thoughts. It will take substantial concrete though. Thanks!!!

Do you have your corners cemented in by chance? I am running into a bit of an issue with NRCS requirements for that with the high tunnel I purchased.
@HeirloomPermaculture2 жыл бұрын
We do not have anything cemented. They probably have different requirements for high tunnel grants vs the intended portability of caterpillar tunnels.

Thank you for your patience in answering my questions. You have been so helpful to me as I am figuring out the best way to do this that will fulfill specs mandated to me and also best ways to protect the large investment we have made into this new adventure.
