Good morning 🌅, you are about 3 weeks To late, I have just done my 2003 Deuce, It is a great idea to wear your rubber 😂 gloves 🧤, has a lot of oil and solvent that can be absorbed into your body, and then build up overtime and then cause your problems later in life, Not sure on your jack shaft , I think there might be a spring, I very stupidly put mine all together, and then realised that the spring had fallen out into the box where I’ve been storing my bits and pieces, The Jim’s bearing upgrade is a great idea, I have done mine, it was done on a press, that was unfortunate that you done damage to the inner case, I had to change the drive belt and sprocket on the output shaft of gearbox, I ended up cutting the sleeve off, and change all oils, I have done around 250 miles since doing this, now got a bad tapping noise coming from my rocker , so I’m going to get some rocker lockers hopefully in the next week or so, , I’ve only had the bike for the past three months , previous owner or owners have not looked after the bike very well, Keep up the great work stay safe where are those gloves? , France.

Started turning wrenches in the 80's and I'm offended by the comment of not needing gloves. We didnt have gloves...

I've used the all balls full bearing in 2 bikes now and it's nice piece of mind for the lack of race in there walking on me. And yes... I also cracked the inner primary cheap ass pot metal. 😮😂
