Natasha, a Montrealer from Canada, bought a Doge Sprinter van with the dream of waking up in the mountains of the West Coast. The van life dream is a popular one, but is it really that great in reality? Natasha takes you through her journey as she downsizes her life to move out of a toxic living situation and into a van with her 3 cats.

I heard a quote recently I wanted to share with you. "You can't wait for better times before you get happy". It spurs me on daily.

Wow, I have so much respect for you for making a point to clean and repair that house before leaving. Every time I have ever left a place to set out on my own, I leave a mess behind, sometimes even intentionally to scorn the people I'm leaving. Maybe I need to try things your way and actually mend my side of the bridge before leaving? I love your cats, they're so cute all curled up together! How are they handling vanlife? Cats are so chill that I would imagine they'd be good companions. I know what you mean about giving stuff away. This spring, I lost my apartment and about half my stuff. In the moment and the following weeks, yeah it sucked and hurt a lot. But as the healing took over, I felt relief from the loss, lighter. I even look forward to being rid of the rest. Now I see why some religious folk take vows of poverty, it's not a punishment but a liberation!

Thank you. The cats are quite comfortable. They like the van much more than I thought they would.

I went through 2 12 volt blankets and they were both trash. They didn't seem to warm up at all. I thought maybe my expectations were to high but then I had to realize that they just didn't work. After 2 duds from to different sellers, I gave up on them and just got thicker regular blankets. Those plus a buddy heater I have never slept cold. Love your videos, starting from the beginning. I had an narc ex for 2 years that I am still healing from 3 years later. At lot of your story brings up so many memories of those struggles. I'm glad you are putting your plan into action. We got this!

I am so glad I found you after all these shenanigans !! I was getting agitar watching you doubt yourself and I was judging you. I've never lived with people like your parents so that conditioning is foreign to me. I am clinically depressed myself but GIRL!! Your parents really did a number on you.

When I looked up the definition of a psychopath and narssasist the weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders. I to had a mother that fit those descriptions and when I started leaving my phone home on recording that is when I realized it wasn't me that was crazy . I have healed and forgiven her and myself and am a happy person today I can't wait to see the rest of you videos

I sure can get what you are saying. It is scarey .....Take one day at a time because that's all any of us have anyway...we are never promised a tomorrow! So look at it that way...but for sure save some funds in case of unexpected expenses for sure. That's very important. Like myself I have no safety nets at all and I have thought of doing van life. But I also up in age as in a senior! So as long as my health stays good. but I would have to consider more about it....being at my age. But who knows...I just over think a lot I guess.....and the weather is getting to be worse and the world is changing so much too. Don't know if it is really for me. I would love it if I had a partner to share it with. But who knows. Only time will tell. 😊 You seem to handle things quite well. I am sure you will do well. 👍

I have heard Bluetti is better than Jackery. For anyone else looking to buy just research first. I mean if Jackery wants to give you one for free go ahead and take it
