Just occurred to me. Next season I'd enjoy seeing the sunflower field planting.🌱

It has to be a dream to keep your apiary within spitting distance of your house. I drive 40 minutes to the first yard. It's 100 km to the other end. I only have 550. All that for 60 lb average.

Hang in there. Maybe someday you'll have as many sunflowers as Bob

Go back with 2 boxes instead of 1 ... this "flow" might drag on a bit longer this year . (or so I hope) lol ... anyway Cheers ,Ian.

I got my hive from dancing bee here in Ontario and they have been incredibly gentle.

One thing at a time with such a rich agenda. Well sometimes too much is too much. Or ya can always just set the alarm clock for an extra hour earlier in the morning. Nice to see your success. Thanks for sharing all of this. ~~~~. New Hampshire.

You inspired me last year to try the bulk bee splits; i was a bit late and didnt do the best, so i made splits in early and mid july and they are doing great so far, hope everything goes as planned!

Hard to believe it’s that time already! Here in North East Pennsylvania we have 5-6 weeks of goldenrod and bamboo then the feeding begins! Trying to do merges and queen pinching to reduce amount of winter colonies! Thanks for the videos as always!

Ever think about open pollen sub feeding during the dearth to promote winter bees?

Question on soybeans, do they work them here ? Or is there little to nothing for them ? I have never noticed a flow from them

Any idea of the concentration of hive that would constitute the point of diminishing return on the sunflowers. Seems it might be a interesting experiment to plant some late sunflowers for fall feed as the cost of feed rises.

The main dancing bee store is close to me in Port Hope Ontario. They also offer those north star queens. I wonder if the ones you received are from Ontario or actually local to you. Curious on how they perform.

Yes I hear you on that. But chasing the last 2 pounds could cost in mite control and then falling behind later with work load after crew leaves

Why you buying queens when have carrie that can make you local queens that are good stop doing that 😅

@@aCanadianBeekeepersBlog ok I’m not understanding what that has to do with buying queens carries queens seem to make just as much honey as the imported queens you get

@@aaronparis4714 not only due to a lack of time, its too late to mate new queens, as they wont have enough time to lay a good enough winter nest to survive. We are still in the testing stage with late season splits, and maybe in time we can figure out a good enough way to use my stock.
