I have three comfort items. Mesquite flour, chiltepin peppers , and if the time of year is right? Prickly pear fruit. Gotta have a little bit of pleasure food lol

For overnight treks into the Arizona Sonora desert I believe in ALWAYS packing a lightweight tent, mainly for shelter from scorpions, spiders, and reptiles. Tents less than two pounds can be found. A tent with windows on four sides would be most desirable, although my own tent has none, and I have gotten by with it. A sturdy, thorn-proof tarp to pitch the tent upon is also extremely important. Traveling in a group of at least four is wise. I carry two firearms totaling about six pounds with ammo, and my hunting license. Thugs and drunks are not uncommon in the desert. Always camp well off any sort of path where a vehicle may drive through at night! Carry a stove with fuel. Apples with salt help prevent crippling heat cramps. Forget nothing.

Good episode... The one thing I would suggest to bring for anyone going on a desert adventure is a small pair of tongs. Many desert edibles need to be picked with care and tongs are also great for holding many edibles over the fire to burn off all the various prickly things...

I needed dynema bow string line for my crossbow. Having a hard time finding it now. I found some braided fishing line was dynema and it's cheaper. So I got 200 pound test
