@@frostys64, she was right in there turnnin' a wrench helping (and learning) how to put the air system back together...that was cool! Hopefully she will be learning to weld, fabricate, beef-up-things, back trailers, all kinds of things from her Dad and her Grandpa. Lizzy was a cool part of Matt Wetzel's MORR channel, now Katelyn is a big part of it...girls doing automotive, building, farming, competing, etc. is nice to see, especially if they really want to learn it.

So sorry to hear about what happened to your brother. It's easy to discount the force that compressed air can provide. Many, many years ago when I was going to school for auto mechanics the instructor was rebuilding a brake caliper. He had a blow gun stuck in where the brake line normally would go. As he was about to hit the trigger on the blow gun, I reached into the caliper and grabbed the piston, to wiggle it. The instructor stopped what he was doing and started yelling at me, saying stuff like "don't ever put your hand near the brake piston" and "if that came out it would have crushed your hand". I was embarrassed because this was in front of the whole class. I was like 18 years old. I'm glad today that he didn't hit that trigger. Both my hands still work.

You just brought Me back a couple of memories when I was trucking. I used to haul 48 bails of hay for a outfit I worked at & when You talked about the scales about back up, pull forward part, well this happened with Me. I had that happen with Me & was in a brand new Volvo, still getting used to it, Screwed up in getting gears correct, felt like an idiot. The scale man just laighed about it, after of course "Park, Bring Papers" then asked "going back to yard?" Yup" OK continue. As for cleaning carpets, I too along with My Brother-In-Law had a steam cleaning carpet cleaning business. I sometimes miss trucking now.

I think it’s great that the young ones like to check out what you all are working on in the shop. I’m sixty myself and grew up on my dad’s chicken farm. He did all the mechanical work on everything, tractors, electronics for the egg room, you name it. He always took the time to show a kid what he was doing, why he did it, and how to diagnose the problem. It’s a good thing giving your children a bit of mechanical abilities and to know how to fix stuff around the house. Myself I spend a lot of time in my shop, it’s Heaven to me. Great channel, keeps getting better and better. Have a great Thanksgiving and be safe.

Years ago when I was driving a service truck for a tire shop the state patrol had 3 "truck cops/Commercial Vehicle Inspectors, aka C.V.I's" parked along the road that lead to the shop I worked out of. The CVI's were pulling over dump truck drivers that were hauling Bobcats; they were hitting them due to they didn't know how to correctly chain down a skid steer tractor & with that the CVI's decided to give their rigs a look over to find any "DOT Infractions"; i.e. brakes out of adjustment, bad air bags, air leaks, etc.

In 1994 I was coming home off an 18 tour with my 10 month old tour bus and the right front bag blew. Apparently Goodyear put out some faulty air bags. Before I left for some reason I had the head mechanic order a stear bag and a drive bag because it was a new model and we didn’t have those bags in stock. Couldn’t get anybody to come out to change it so on with the coveralls. Now lf you look at buses the wheels are in a wheel well. Without a pit or lift it was not fun changing it but it got done and an hour late but we made it home.

Well Shawn just failed his driving test for his CDL, lol, had two friends go take there test for CDL’s back in the mid 90’s and they did same, opened the door reach in give shifter a shake make sure in neutral and turned key and started from standing out side and instructor said well you failed already to both and they had to both reschedule tests. Something funny we learned in the small town we grew up on and on the farms we worked. Love the channel keep vids coming
