Hey Rach fellow Aussie in Sydney here! I got a delongni magnifica coffee machine and I love it. It uses beans or pre ground but is still an automatic machine. You can either do a long black coffee and top with milk or use the milk frother from the side to make a traditional cappuccino or coffee. I just brought the delonghi little milk jug to go with. It’s really good. I love my coffee before work and it saves be $8 a day buying one 😊. Look them up they do different models this was the one I loved the most. I had a pod machine for ages which broke and this was our 15 year anniversary present for me n hubby

Rachel, if you end up painting that Ikea piece blue, make extra sure to find the most reputable primer that works on that surface. I renovated a ton of furniture and idk what is wrong with the ikea material but those were the only ones that even my primer did not work on. Like at all! It scratches off even to the slightest pressure from objects that are not even sharp. I have seen that in the US you can get some primer that works on it and while I havent found any over here that would work so I cant recommend from my experience, if I recall correctly that one was from Zinsser. Many tiktok furniture flippers use it. :)

As a fellow coffee lover, if you're planning on getting a drip coffee machine, the only option is a Moccamaster! They're not all so aestheticly or good looking, but definitly the best machines on the market!! And they do come in some really cute colors

Always love a good home re-org video! :) For your coffee question - I totally agree with you on the Nespresso pods. What kind of machine you get totally depends on what kind of coffee you like. If you like black coffee - I would get a drip coffee machine or do a pour-over coffee setup (Watch any minimalist KZbinr dude's video. Lol. You'll know what I mean by "setup"). If you like lattes & cappuccinos and would appreciate the coffee-making process more than you would mind the additional clean-up, then I would suggest an espresso machine and perhaps even a coffee grinder. I have the latter and love my morning coffee time!

When you start looking for a new apartment, you should consider moving out of downtown DC to the close area around like Bethesda or Rockville or Silver Spring because you have areas there that are really close to the Metro and it makes life easy to get it downtown DC anyway like that and places are bigger and cheaper in downtown Bethesda is beautiful area in downtown. Silver Spring is beautiful area with a lot of shopping around. You should definitely look at those two.

You can take the controllers off the switch and you can still play and charge it without, then pop them in a basket or whatever so you don’t need new controllers purely for asthetics 😌

Definitely get a Breville coffee machine! It is the best coffee machine I have ever owned. I've got the Breville barista touch, but any in the barista range are incredible! Ours has lasted over 6 years so far and coffee is cafe quality

Yeah we found the coffee pods taste a bit muddy to us, for some reason. We have the Smeg 50’s Retro Style Espresso machine, it’s cute compact and makes a really nice coffee and as a bonus you can get one in blue 😉

Have you tried one of the original nespresso machines that use the smaller pods? We originally also bought a vertuo but switched to an essenza mini and we like it so much more. The pods are cheaper too which is a plus!

I’ve got the Nespresso Citiz and it’s great! We have Starbucks pods and toffee nut ones from the grocery store and they are really nice - I used to have the big pod Nespresso machine and I hated it! Prefer the small pod one - much more variety!

We bought the Joy Pebble 10 cup drip machine that grinds your coffee for each pot. We have a breville barista which is too complicated for me to use. It weighs a ton to ship or I would send it to you.

I was wondering the taste of the coffee pods and was hesitant to get one of those Nespresso machines. I currently have a Delonghi Dedica espresso machine and a drip coffee maker. I was looking at the Delonghi Magnifica series. They have different level that make espresso and coffee. Cheaper than Jura.
