You can make banana essence by placing the skins of bananas in a jar with sugar for a couple of weeks. They eventually break down and release their strong banana flavour into the sugar as a syrup. You could use this in the icing.

To adjust the mixer bowl to the paddle attachment, put a dime in the bowl and 'using the screw' bring the paddle down until it just barely starts to move the dime around the bottom of the bowl. Done.

Yummy! Please do a video on salt. There are videos but I don’t know if I can trust them. I would hate to use the wrong salt and ruin a recipe. I can trust you. Don't forget to have handy extra-strength cholesterol medicine. Too much butter. There are many recipes online and the majority use some healthier vegetable / canola oil instead of butter. I like my banana cake/bread in the morning for breakfast. Minimizing the harmful food is very important to me. Adding lots of walnuts makes it even healthier. Also I never use vanilla. It masks the banana flavor

Instead of frosting, I thinly slice a little firmer 🍌 banana 🍌 and brown sugar with a very thin slice of butter in a sauce pan to glaze the bananas and then I place the caramelized thin sliced 🍌 banana 🍌 on the top of the

Thank you for sharing! I have found myself saving many of your recipes to make with or for my three nieces (ages 7, 8, & 8.5), & this one definitely made the list. The youngest will happily mash the 'nanners (her word, not mine), while the oldest will be intrigued with the responsibility of measuring with the scale, & the middle one (the bossy one) will hog mixer duty as long as possible. It is a perfect cake ❤ thank you John. I made it for a family dinner. I substituted Spelt flour as I eat low gluten. When using spelt flour I also add xanthum gum, 1 tsp for each cup of spelt flour.
