this recipe is amazing!! I made these for my first proper valentines day and they went so great!! this video was so easy to follow and you make everything so clear! i made these a few days before valentines as well, just as a 'trial' run incase the recipe didn't quite go as planned but it was perfect!! literally no faults!! i didn't use the sanding sugar as you suggested, instead i went for the simple/plain look of just striped hearts but they were still beautiful to look at!! your whole account seems great and I'm hoping to branch out my baking horizon using your channel! thanks so much:) 5 stars!!!!!!!!!

I just made this using your recipe of shortbread cookies. I just used pink color in half. I double the recipe of shortbread cookies and I made 68 hearts cookies in different sizes. I didn't want cookies too sweet. I bake some and the rest I froze them for another day. I also put some heart candy in some of them. Looks very nice. The cookies are so good. Thanks for both recipe.

I hated maths at school probably because I didn't like my teacher (50+ years ago). I think if I'd had John as a teacher, I would have done so much better. I love cooking and baking too and have been using John's recipes. Never had a failure yet 😊

Genius!!! I thought that the design was going to be done by applying an egg wash, free-hand, then sprinkling pink sanding sugar on. This is definitely more labor intensive and so worth the finished effect. I love this cookie!!

I am a new subscriber and I absolutely love you and your videos!! I have to admit that I am more partial to your baking/dessert videos! I grew up in the kitchen watching my grandmother bake and became an avid baker myself. Due to health issues I am no longer able to do much in the kitchen, however, on my next “good” day I will be making these cookies! I absolutely loved how they turned out! These would be great for a baby shower and you could change the stripe color to pale blue for a boy! Shoot it would be easy to do pale yellow and pale green, too, if the gender has not been revealed yet. Thanks so much for sharing such great ideas with all of us! 🤗🥰😊
