I make a lot of the things I use to clean my house. I love the idea of infusing vinegar with citrus. Here is a hint, if you have a Heinz vinegar glass bottle you can use a spray top from an old spray bottle, like window cleaner or all purpose cleaner, to make a glass spray bottle. Most spray tops will fit I think. Thanks for all of your amazing videos. I love the Scripture at the end. God bless

As a heads up, the threads of most quart-sized glass vinegar bottles matches perfectly with the threads of most spray tops like the ones on the dollar store plastic squirt bottles. I love glass too, so I re-use them whenever I can.

What a fabulous idea! I've used orange peels as a kind of natural air freshener before but I never thought about anything like this. Great idea with summer here and all the fresh oranges our family is going to eat! I found your channel a few weeks ago and am loving going back and watching all your videos. Excellent content for homesteaders or anyone who might be trying to be more self sufficient in our seemingly throw away society. Thank you!

Bless you sweet lady. I have done thi with cheap strong whiskey as well then just added water at the end of the 4 weeks. I also have brought a various array of citrus peels to a hard boil for 3 minutes then lowered to a simmer for an hour or two. I then strain it and allow it to cool before water bathing it. I then have a good concentrate to add to my amber bottles with either peroxide , strong vodka or vinegar for a cleaning solution. This way the oils and acids are removed and I can add the mostly depleted peels to mix with other compost to feed my worm bins which I then will garden in.

this cleaning solution is great on corrosion or oxidation on metals like battery terminals, brass and copper. and if you are careful you can clean the springs and contacts in battery operated devices / flash lights, remote controls etc. I use a cotton swab, paper towel and some times a fine dropper or pipette to place single drops so you don't damage other components.

Wonderful natural homemade liquid! I've made this in the past, then forgetten about the jars of peels and vinegar for months and not strained them! (one jar is a couple years on a back shelf still waiting. :O oops) I suppose they are still good to use, as long as I strain them well. :) My goats like to eat the organic citrus peels and the vitamin C is good for them, so I'll have to see if I can ask a few others who eat organic citrus to save some more for me so my lovely does can still have some too as we don't eat very much citrus ourselves.

Thank you for this recipe I will try it.. Usually I use the citrus skins for air freshener when I fry to remove the odor. I take the citrus skins and place them in a saucepan with cold water also add a cinnamon stick and cloves let it boil. Allow to simmer at low fire. this helps clear up the odors in the kitchen. Hope you would try this. Enjoy. Blessings, Laura M

Hi...Love your videos! Thank you so much for being:). Without researching first and since my dehydrator is always on, I've dried all my peels hoping there would be a use for cleaning or the garden. We don't often get organic and I'm having trouble researching for uses. Any suggestions? Also, I'm assuming the home-made acv is not acidic enough for cleaning? ty.

I did that with grapefruit peels but kept them in the refrigerator, because...Arizona...too hot and those would have molded overnight. Perhaps if I poured the vinegar over the 1 peel it wouldn't but I didn't think of that at the time. The end result was worth it though...yummy grapefruit smell!

If you ramp-up your citrus drink, peel off the skin, and blender. Put the mushed skin back into the truly whole orange/citrus drink. If you make an orange/lemon/lime drink, the orange (and the skin) will sweeten the pucker of the lemon/lime. Same for blendering lemon and lime skins. The skin has all the bioflavonoids and citrus oils - very healthy component that assists in a greater metabolic consumption of the regular vit C. So eat that peel, or at least use the skin as well, and have the total healthy drink. The other option is using the same blender skin mush in the orange glory infusion, and when straining out the mush versus the peels, you get all those same bioflavonoids and oils ... then you have the soft mush that can be pressed out and golf ball/hard ball pressed spheres that can be put into the household corners. The same ancestral use of putting a whole orange(or citrus) (with cloves stuck in, and this was their use of the re-modernized essential oil orange oil - clove oil treatment for critters (ants, silverfish, cockroaches, spiders, flies, moths, skeeters, chiggers, bedbugs, ....). Can also put the same (with a hanging string and mesh baggy) into the closets or into the clothing or household drawers for potpourri scented balls. This same mush can be used with baking soda (alkaline ph vs the highly corrosive white vinegar acid) and have an alkaline liquid cleaner (minimal lye cleanser) that can be used with cookware, utensils, or even in the fridge or freezer for sucking up obnoxious smells and odors. Can use as a skin cleanser that will help with dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, sunburns. Can also put into cold cream for a very cleansing and healing cream. If you put the mush in tiny tiny little (rolled out) dried flecks and give to the birds (and all the rest of the critters at the bird feeder (ants, wasps squirrels, etc), they will eat it up.

Can this be used on the inside of an oven? I have a new-ish (new used) oven that my Honey put a pizza in on the rack without a pan, and it leaked the cheese and burned it to the bottom of the oven. Will this get that off? I have tried baking soda with very hot water, made kind of a paste and it got the bigger chunks, but not thinner stuff burned. Any suggestions? God bless you and your family! Hi, I hope you’ll have time to answer a few questions because I’ve been saving my peels ever since I first saw this video a year ago and I’ve already made this cleaner twice. I love it! But I’ve always wanted to ask you... do you add any water to the spray bottle with the orange vinegar? Sometimes the cleaner can feel a little strong to me so I added water to my spray bottle too. But it’s made me wonder if a little added water would be ok, or if it could ruin the solution? My second question is... Do you think we need to leave the white side of the peel on? I’m so curious at what depth of the peelings does the oil stop? Which then makes me wonder, is it better if I peel my citrus with a vegetable peeler so the peels are thinner and there’s no bulky orange peel white stuff just taking up room? That’s actually how I have been doing this; peeling my oranges thinly, letting them dry, then when I have enough, I pack them in a jar with the white vinegar and let mine sit for 2-3 months. Which leads to my third question... Because I’m making mine with pure peels and letting it soak even longer, do you think that would mean that my finished product could be stronger? Maybe that’s why I feel I need to add water? Anyway, I hope you’ll have time to answer me because I’ve been doing the peeling and saving and drying and soaking for over a year and it would help so much to know the answers to my questions. I can’t wait to search for your Pine Cleaner now!! Thank you so much and God bless you!

I added all the peels at once to the vinegar and left it under my sink for about a month. Every other day I would shake the jar to redistribute the peels. I noticed that the solution got thicker over time. Is that normal? If you leave the peels in for a months time can it go bad at all or does the vinegar truly prevent that. I want to clean more naturally and avoid nasty harsh chemical but I am having such a hard time breaking my conditioning/brainwashing of correlating chemicals with disinfecting and sanitizing. Its hard to wrap my brain around the fact that some vinegar and peels sitting forever doest go rancid and actually cleans stuff.

yeah i do this too, but it smells like vinegar. i even put a lot of orange essential oil in it and it still smells vinegar. lavender oil is a bit stronger than orange oil. i find that only when i put orange oil in a small quantity of vinegar (not more than 1dcl or so), then I smell orange more than vinegar.....vinegar really has a strong smell....
