Another great video by LLA. Just finished learning your video on verb to be and now this. Two most important videos in my life. People, I highly recommend subscribing & listening to her videos if you're serious learners of Sham (Levantine) Arabic.

Marhaba! Could you make a video about the normal order of sentences, subject, verb, object etc. and how they interact compared with English? Shukhran :) Love your videos

I’d like that too, I’m not always sure about where to put certain words in the sentence. English is not my first language but I bet it will be super helpful for you to know 2 things: 1-adjectives come after the noun, like in spanish for example. And 2- to say something belongs to something in a normal way (like jeff’s car) you first say the thing that belongs, and then the owner, like if you would say “the car of jeff”. You don’t need anything to connect those (as far as I know) so you pretty much say “car jeff”. It can make an infinite chain, like “the dirt of the wheel of the car of jeff”. But somewhere there you must use the “AL” (the), I’m not sure where, tho. But Maha’s got a nice video about it on Learning arabic with Maha channel. Another channel that you might find extremely useful is Learning Palestinian Arabic with a guy whose name I can’t recall for my life hahaha. I hope it’s of some help, even with your comment being from a year past

many thanks for the video, but could you explain a bit more how to identify which verb belongs to which conjugation-category? I also didn't understand how I can identify verbs with a so called "stress-consonent". 😞

Two comments: 1) بحبّ أرسم 2) In the sentence, Muna writes nice poems, is Levantine similar to MSA where the plural noun takes a singular feminine adjective? قصائد حلوة

For b-imperfect conjugation for (huwe) some textbooks add the "ي" after the “ب.” Is that necessary?

Quick tip: add (raH) before the present tense verb, and you have the future tense. Eg. I will write: raH aktob.

Are all verbs with the prefix ba or how do i know which verbs are with b?
@mariafij7117
@mariafij7117 3 жыл бұрын
they are mostly with the prefix ba, only if they are the second verb in the sentence we don´t add the prefix
@dianeweiss4562
@dianeweiss4562 2 жыл бұрын
From what I’ve gathered, the “b” or equivalent is added for repeated actions, I go to work daily, I visit my family every Friday. The b prefix is also used for near future and on the first verb of a two verb construct.

@LearnLevantineArabic
@LearnLevantineArabic 6 жыл бұрын
Good effort! However, this is literal translation from English and it does not sound natural in Arabic. You would just use the same verb twice. Don't use أعمل instead of repeating أرسم. I'd say : بس ما برسم منيح - بس ما بعرف أرسم منيح

What I understood from the video is that while in the MSA dialect you would add an أن, but in Levantine it's unnecessary. You would just say بحب أرسم.
