As some of you have pointed out, the Advanced Slides plugin is no longer listed as a community plugin by Obsidian. They go over their reasoning here: forum.obsidian.md/t/advanced-slides-create-markdown-based-reveal-js-presentations-in-obsidian/28243/203 Essentially, the Advanced Slides plugin developer has refused to adhere to Obsidian best practices around intrusive donation requests. I agree with the Obsidian team's decision and no longer use Advanced Slides myself, so I am unlisting this video.
@jasonqq Жыл бұрын
The Advanced Slides author has fixed the issue and the plugin is re-listed. Could you re-list your video now as well? It's a great reference.

MSzturc, the developer of this plugin, reached out to me let me know that in 8:43 , there is a MUCH easier way to animated bulleted or numbered lists. I could have just used a + instead of a - ! He's updated the documentation now to reflect this: mszturc.github.io/obsidian-advanced-slides/extend-syntax/fragmentedlists/

You've always been a keystone of the Obsidian community. We love how you can assuage our curiosity about something related to Obsidian quickly with your summaries. Your a faithful rock - keeping us up to date and saving us valuable time. We can always trust we'll get value out of your videos. They're appropriately detailed and appropriately succinct at the same time. Edited with obvious thoughtfulness and care. Thank you!

this is amazing. first time im hearing about html slides but this is a game changer. im thinking to host important slides online and just send people a QR code that links to it. can probably work as a sales copy as well. sky is the limit
@nicolevdh2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! HTML slides are so much better. No account or installation required, and they can be used by you while you're presenting AND by your audience simultaneously. I think it's the most modern approach to presentations, and the fact that they're easier to create with plugins like this that are integrated into note-taking systems is a bonus!

I just gave a presentation in my Danish class and your instructions made creating my slides a breeze. Tusind tak! Btw, I found out that instead of using that fragment comment after a bullet point to make it appear later, you could just use ”+” instead of ”-” to have the same effect.

Yep, I actually put it in the first pinned comment on this video after the developer reached out and told me about it. :) At the time, it was an undocumented feature so I didn't know about it! I was actually talking to the developer of this plugin, and he mentioned that he uses slides even for himself, as a way to collate several atomic notes into a slide. It's an interesting twist on the MoC idea! I want to try it for myself sometime.

I see your comment regarding Advanced Slide plugin issues re. donation requests. Apart from that. Should you do another video on Obsidian slides, could you discuss image and text placement within the frame of the output slides, or does the plugin place them where it likes. In PowerPoint you seemed to have the ability for placement of objects within the output frame, but I have yet to see someone do any explaining about it within Obsidian. Thank you in advance.

Hi Nicole, are you aware of any form of countdown tracker for Obsidian? I'd like to have a list of key upcoming events I need to give special attention to, I'd like to see the remaining days to such events. There's simple apps to do that, but this would be really nice to have integrated to obsidian. Thanks for your wonderful content!

Thanks for the nice words, Julio! Unfortunately, I don't know of any Obsidian plugins that do that! The best that I can think of would be to use JavaScript via the Templater plugin to calculate and display that countdown, if you have some programming skills!
