Thank you I am doing my first shoot today for a contracting company who reached out to me because of my Instagram gallery. I have never done interior architectural shots before lol. I am definitely going to refer back to this vid when I am editing :-) I hope Mr Baum mentions you as well!

Nathan, how do you know which layers to put at the top and which at the bottom? And I notice that you move them around .... Any video recommendations about how to figure out that part of the process? Thanks.
@NathanCoolPhoto7 жыл бұрын
I put flash on the bottom, ambient above it (in Luminosity mode), and window pulls above that. You'll see me do that in nearly all my other videos on this channel.

Love this video! When I hit CTL-S to save, it didn't bring the photo back to Lightroom. I had Lightroom minimized. What do you think I did wrong and how to correct please?
@NathanCoolPhoto7 жыл бұрын
Not sure what all you did, I'd have to work through that with you. If you started in Lightroom and had the images open in Lightroom and from there opened as layers into Photoshop, then there shouldn't be an issue unless you change the file name when you save it. As an option, I do provide 1-on-1 personal remote training in case you get completely stuck. Email me for more information if you need to: nathan@nathancoolphoto.com

I used a Rovelight, you can see it doing the window pull at 10:28 into the video.

when I click luminosity for my ambient picture, it takes my color out and it looks gray. What am I doing wrong?

You are flashing incorrectly. This video should help with fixes kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaq5eJSpq8ifbqc and my advanced editing book covers this in more detail as well www.amazon.com/dp/B0779PCVWC

Do you have more info about working with tablets and pens in photoshop? I have a windows ink pen that came with my touch screen laptop and honestly have no clue if it's even possible to incorporate using that. Thanks!
@NathanCoolPhoto5 жыл бұрын
Hi Michelle, any pointing device (i.e. pen, mouse, trackball, etc.) that is recognized by your computer should pretty much be recognized by Adobe software. Sorry I don't have more info on that.

What happens when you flatten your image and your client wants you to make some corrections? Do you do the whole process again? Or you save the PSD file so you can go back in case you need it? Thank you teacher
@NathanCoolPhoto3 жыл бұрын
I cover this quite a bit throughout my real estate photography series (at amzn.to/3owZOJH ) but basically it depends on the type of work you're doing, and how complicated a particular edit may be. Saving all your work as PSDs would require much more time and disk space, and it's not worth it for some gigs, but important for others. As a general rule: the higher the pay for the gig the more likely it may be you save as PSDs, but for standard MLS work, flattening is best.

Nathan, do you sell your Presets for Lightroom and Actions for Photoshop[?
@NathanCoolPhoto2 жыл бұрын
These are easy enough to make yourself, which I show (with settings) in my book on advanced editing for real estate and others in my REP series. Here's a link to the series if you'd like to check them out: amzn.to/36JXwBW

Hey Nathan, the action I made will play when I use the play button but the key I assigned does nothing. Do you know why that could be? Thanks for all you do!
@NathanCoolPhoto6 жыл бұрын
Hi Ari, I'd have to see what you are doing, so we'd have to do a one-on-one session. But, you can also get step by step instructions in my advanced editing book on making and using actions: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0779PCVWC/

@@NathanCoolPhoto Thank you for your fast reply. I just contacted Adobe support, it seems to be a keyboard issue. I'll check that out after dinner. Anyway, I can run with the start button which is still faster. Thanks and be well.
@aristepp6806 жыл бұрын
And the answer is... on a MAC, Go to SystemPreferences/Keyboard and look where is says 'use all F1, F2, etc keys as standard function keys. For photoshop to do things correctly, check that box. That's the fix.... done.

Hi Nathan, How do you prevent Photoshop from looking for the exact file number (from the recorded action)? I have successfully recorded the action, but when I try to run it on a new file set, it looks for the file numbers from the original action I recorded? Love your videos! Thanks!

Never encountered your problem...not sure what it is :/

I'm having the same issue, when i recorded the fast flambient action, I clicked on the ambient shot and did the rest of the steps. When I opened two new photos and tried to apply the action, it looked for that file number from my initial creation. How can you set it so that it applies it to the first image no matter what the image name is? Thank you for your response.
