This is very nice. My sister in law who can barely walk, cannot work. Stays in a bus shed all day. Can someone look into this and help her please. She needs help. Neighbors tormented her life every day. Police does nothing to solve the problem. Can the President visit this area in Diamond and see what is going on?

While I applaud this show of charity I just wish that President Ali & his government will do more for the poor people. How about establishing government programs to house & feed the poor & destitute. How about committing a portion of Guyana's oil wealth to this. How about spending money to repair & fix historic buildings around Georgetown, addressing the garbage & crime problems. Guyana has much to offer but visitors, whether foreign tourists or former residents are reluctant to visit because of these concerns. I am Guyanese born but migrated in 1978 because of the political situation & have only revisited my homeland three times, the last in 2014. I actually met Mr. Ali at a function for visitors when he was then involved with tourism. In my visit nine years ago I still found that the average Guyanese were the same friendly & giving persons I knew growing up. I was saddened to see the state of disrepair & neglect of Georgetown but thoroughly enjoyed my trips to the resorts & countryside. Kudos to the many charities & charitable folks, both in Guyana & abroad who donate cash, goods & time to the needy.
