There isn't just one type of democracy. It shouldn't be reduced to voting and terms. In that case it would be convenient to have a series of undedicated and bought politicians. It seems that whenever someone is doing something against colonial and corporate interests, technical and human rights issues are brought up. Would the best surgeon be asked to leave an operation just because it took longer than anticipated? Ultimately it should be the consensus of the people, not pressure from ex-colonials who created the detrimental situations in the first place.
