I just got one of these on Ebay. I owned both the 2510 and the 2600 as a teenager but never had a 2830 or Lincoln. Excited to revisit the nostalgia.

That Lincoln sounds superb...The sensitivity and selectivity even with stations without any signal showing is first class.Thanks for the clip.I like the paragraph write up Dave i didn't know the radios History but do now.Cheers

No problem I wanted a Uniden 2830 when they came out in 1988 but as a 20 year old I didn't have £350 spare, I was more into motorbikes back then and only on a third of the asking price a week!

Fabulous radio. I’ve just managed to get hold of an absolute mint one - not a mark on it and looks like it’s never been used. All boxed with everything still in the plastic bags etc. I will be taking very good care of it! So much better than the new Lincoln IMO. :)

I remember having one of these AWESOME!!! radios Sadly it got STOLEN via my X amongst many, many other items of personal value. & yes to this day i absolutely DESPISE her & her family for it. & will NEVER , EVER forgive her for it. & since then i haven't been able to afford a replacement as the price for these AWESOME!!! radios has gone through the roof price wise. Last i saw one it was far too far away to get it & it was priced at over £280 or equivalant in other currancies. 😥😥😥😥😥 So, i haven't sadly replace it & it's 12amp power unit antenna coax etc, etc which would end up costing me far too much so, sadly i have had to stop searching for one & say i will never get another full set up again as costs is far too much out of reach. 😥😥😥😥

Thanks for the reviews Dave, I've enjoyed them all, please keep them coming.Personally got myself a hi power version (455) from France recently dated June 2002 model fully boxed all matching and original numbers and accessories a 9/10 on the condition .On the strength of one of your recent reviews, I just purchased the V2 President Grant ASC but not the Premium as I want to run fitted into dash on my Truck as well as aligned with RM500 24v, so didn't want the radio pushing uprated wattage plus the addition of the rear heat sink, so technically speaking I've not purchased the best version to date - and now with newer firmware for complete expansion plus no loss of UK channels - but thanks to you earlier reviews got the version that was best for my pending set up; Like I said keep em coming on all aspects.Cheers Mark 26CT228

The early nineties Lincolns , Jacksons , and Georges were the bollocks.. However they where not a budget radio... The SS3900 was the budget option at the time... I went for the flag ship George. With the benefit of hindsight. The Lincoln was a way better DX Radio...

This is really great timing! My beloved President Madison passed away this week, having been pulled out of the attic last summer after a couple of decades in storage. So I was on the hunt for a new rig. After the (ahem) mixed feedback on the Lincoln II, there was only one rig for me. Uniden 2830 on it's way to me as we speak! God bless eBay! 73s, Griff. 26FB3476

My Uniden 2830 has arrived, got it plugged into the Gain Master and I'm chuffed to bits with it! The receive is even better than my Madison, it's pulling stations in from all over Europe and the skip isn't even particularly high. Great combo. Thanks for the vids Dave, was a big help in making my recent purchases.

How can I become a licence operator in the UK just so I can talk on 10 metre band
@battlestarone10 жыл бұрын
why oh why do they no make these anymore,i am sure if someone picked up the licence to make them they would be onto a winner

Not made with this quality anymore.. Even the Mk1 Jackson puts a lot of newer 10 meter exports to shame..On the RX side..

I had my Lincoln & a lot of the other radio equipment was stolen some time ago & have not had it replaced. This due to the last time I was on the airwaves along with the Muppet bands & got so much GRIEF!!! Even when I tried using the sidebands I was tormented there. I don't know why I was but, I was thinking of going back on but, still not sure if I really want to. More thinking about it. I have a scanner to receive 27mhz but, I hear absolutely NOTHING on it I hear some Hams at times but, Muppet channels ( just to see if anything or anyone is about on them) seems to be total silence. So, I don't bother with it much now.
